Meet Mackenzie Phillips
   We are thrilled to mark the 10th Annual Hope Award Gala with

            Mackenzie Phillips, our Signature Guest Speaker.

This year’s Signature Guest Speaker is Mackenzie Phillips.

An American Actress and author who rose to fame with breakout

parts in the 1973 movie, American Graffiti and ‘70s sitcom, One

Day at a Time. Phillips currently plays “Barb” in Season 6

of Orange is the New Black on Netflix and will star in the

upcoming revival of One Day at a Time, also on Netflix.

She is the author of the courageous New York Times bestselling

memoir High on Arrival, and her equally successful book, Hopeful

Healing: Essays on Managing Recovery and Surviving Addiction.

She’s now making a different impact as a director at the Breathe

Life Healing Center in Los Angeles where she specializes in

trauma, drug and alcohol treatment and recovery.

The daughter of The Mamas and the Papas lead singer John

Phillips, Mackenzie is a survivor of substance abuse and a visible

and outspoken advocate for addiction awareness and

education. She will bring her knowledge and voice to the stage

on the subject of recovery and share stories of her near fatal

drug addiction, suicide attempts, depression and the

dysfunctional environment she grew up in.

Phillips will also talk about her gains through therapy and her

work as a rehabilitation counselor. She will also share the proven

tools and holistic approaches she has used in her own life and

with those who are on their way to recovery.

children across Niagara

Over the last 12 months, Pathstone

Mental Health has served 6,282

children through more than 113,007

direct counselling hours

4,379 of those children were first time

clients

Over 2,350 calls were made to our

24/7 Crisis Helpline number

One in five children in our region has a

mental health problem.

Treatment Works! Over 85% of children

who are treated at Pathstone Mental

Health show significant improvement.
