1st Year Student Structure
• Goal of community is to help support 1st year students with the
  transition from high school to college and college to career

• 1st year student required 2 credit course taught by engineering
  graduate students & CEED staff

• Assigned upper class mentor to meet once a week for 1st ten
  weeks of fall semester

• What to expect from the course & What to expect from
  mentoring

    Upper Class Structure
    2nd year students are peer selected and must live in the community serving in a committee
    position – 1 credit leadership course

•   2nd year students can also apply to be a mentor, not everyone is selected to be a mentor

    community as a mentor/committee member

•   Galipatia Leadership Team helps mentor the upper class in committee and mentor roles

Application Process
     • Application revisions begin in late January and proceed up
       to and through May 1 or until the communities are full.
     • Decisions are made on a rolling basis. We review a new
       set of applications every Monday and return decisions to
       those applicants by the following Monday.
     • Applications are reviewed by community faculty and staff,
       and current upper class community members.
     • The only living learning community you can apply to
       BEFORE you accept your admissions offer!
