Derbyshire County Council is looking for Disabled Children Contract Foster Carers to look after 0 – 18 year
olds who have complex disabilities. Carers are needed to provide full time and short break placements.
Young people may be in need of accommodating by the Local Authority; be ready to move out of residential
settings to family based care or be in need of short breaks to support their full time carers and provide
opportunities outside of their home.

This is a rewarding role for people who enjoy being with disabled children. We are committed to helping all
our young people to reach their full potential. Out foster carers are central to this.

We would like to hear from people who have the skills and experience of working directly with or caring for
young people with disabilities. You will need patience, commitment and time to help them progress and
support their individual circumstances. We are particularly keen to hear from carers who may have an
adapted property or one which, with support, they are willing to adapt to meet the needs of young people.

Carers of the scheme will look after the young person in their own home and the primary carer should not
have other employment or commitments. You will work closely as part of the team around the child.

Carers for the scheme should ideally not have children under the age of 16 living at home, but we may
consider those who have older teenagers. You should also have access to your own transport.

You must be at least 21 years of age to foster for Derbyshire County Council. We welcome Disabled Children
Contract carers from all backgrounds and ethnicity, and you can be single, married, in a civil partnership of in
a same sex relationship.

Disabled Children Contract carers whilst approved by Derbyshire County Council are not employed by the
council. As a self – employed carer, for providing a full time placement, you will receive approximately
£25,140.96 per annum, plus additional allowances dependant on the age of the child in placements. You
would be responsible for paying your own tax and national insurance contributions. For providing short
breaks you would receive approximately £96.69 plus allowances for every day the child is with you.

The Disabled Children Contract Care scheme will provide you with skilled and dedicated support as well as
ongoing training and development opportunities.

primarily short term packages of care, moving away from providing the more traditional long term care in order to
enable us to support timely discharge from hospital, avoid hospital admission and enable people to retain and
regain their independence. The newly formed Homecare Scheduling Team will play a pivotal role in ensuring that
the Homecare Service runs efficiently and responds quickly to provide care and support in the community from
7am to 10pm, 365 days per year on a rotational basis. These posts will involve weekend and bank holiday working.
We are looking for committed and flexible people for this new team which will be based in Sheepbridge,
Chesterfield.

Working in a busy office, the successful candidates will require appropriate information & technology (IT) skills,
which includes using a variety of IT systems. Communication skills, ability to work to deadlines and an

caring for people with various age related conditions, including Dementia type illnesses in a residential environment
and develop the service in line with the changing demographics of people in society.
This opportunity will include offering support for carers, working with key groups such as Dementia Friends, Stroke
Association and the ability to liaise with multi professional teams necessary to provide person centred care for
individuals alongside the Service Manager.

You will be responsible for the operational management of the care home and will provide management and
leadership to a large team inclusive of Managers, Senior Care Workers, Care Workers, Catering and Domestic
staff, continually working with the staff group to develop knowledge and skills when caring for people with long term
conditions.

Currently Goyt Valley has a ‘Good’ Care Quality Commission rating and a committed staff group who are willing to

You will make effective use of resources within the allocated budget and have a good knowledge of residential care
