      Justice Pankaj Mithal has been named the next Chief Justice of the Common High Court of

      The Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Arup Kumar Goswami, was sworn in.

         PM Modi inaugurates National Metrology Conclave 2021 This year's theme is ‘Metrology for the
          Inclusive Growth of the Nation’.
         The Government of France organised the fourth ‘One Planet Summit’,which aimed at protecting
          the world’s biodiversity.The Summit was organised in cooperation with the United Nations and
          the World Bank.The theme of the Summit was “Let’s act together for nature!”.

Government Schemes/Projects-

         Madhya Pradesh's government has introduced a 'Launch Pad Scheme' for boys and girls who
          have passed 18 years of age and have left child care institutions. The state's Women and Child
          Development Department created this programme with the goal of providing a platform for
          these young people to become self-sufficient by completing their education and training.

        Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 450-km Kochi-Mangaluru natural gas
         pipeline.The event marks an important milestone towards the creation of One Nation One Gas
         Grid.
        CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan launches ‘PANKH Abhiyan’ for Girl Child.‘PANKH Abhiyan’ is a year-
         long programme. The letter in the PANKH scheme stands for:‘P’ – protection,‘A’ – awareness of
         their rights,‘N’ – nutrition,‘K’ – knowledge,‘H’ – health.
        PM Narendra Modi has launched Rs 1,000-crore ‘Startup India Seed Fund’. This initiative will
         help in setting up new startups and promote their growth.The Startup India Seed Fund would
         support startups in need of initial capital to start and grow their business and help budding
         entrepreneurs pursue innovative ideas.The scheme will be implemented by the Department for
         Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DIIT).

Science and Technology-

        To fight the problem of space trash, Japan plans to launch the first wood-based satellite by
         2023.

Finance-

        The Indian economy is expected to contract, according to the World Bank in the year 2020-21,
         by 9.6%.
        India's GDP estimate for FY21 has been revised downward to -8 percent by the IMF.
        According to the United Nations, India's economy would increase at 7.3 percent in fiscal year
         2021.

Defence-

        A Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) defence system was successfully tested by
         India and Israel.
        The DRDO develops the ASMI, India's first indigenously developed 9mm machine pistol.
        India will buy 21 MiG-29 fighter jets and 12 Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jets from Russia.
        The indigenously developed "SAAW"Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon was successfully tested by the
         DRDO.

        The biennial pan-India coastal defence exercise “Sea Vigil-21” conducted.
        The bilateral air exercise by Indian Air Force and French Air and Space Force conducted at Air
         Force Station, Jodhpur – Ex Desert Knight-21
        Indian Navy conducts exercise AMPHEX – 21 with Army and Air Force.

      Gorewada International Zoo in Nagpur has been renamed Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada
       International Zoological Park by the Maharashtra government.
      Nitish Kumar launches the state's first bird festival, dubbed "Kalrav," in the Nagi-Nakti bird
       sanctuary in Bihar's Jamui district.
      Prakash Javadekar has designated the year 2021 as the Indo-French Year of the Environment.
      Haldwani, Uttarakhand, is the site of India's first pollinator park, which was dedicated by famous
       butterfly specialist Peter Smetacek.

      In Bhubaneswar, Naveen Patnaik inaugurates India's first "Fire Park."
      The AIIMS in Bhubaneswar has won the Kayakalp Award Scheme for promoting cleanliness,
       hygiene and creating sustainable practices in public health facilities.
      Donald Trump becomes the first U.S. President to be impeached twice.
      Kerala becomes 8th State to complete ease of doing business reforms and joined the seven
       other States namely, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil
       Nadu and Telangana, who have completed this reform.
      Rajnath Singh unveils India’s 1st indigenously developed driverless metro car.
