Proposed traffic impacts
Construction is currently scheduled to begin on Monday June 7, 2021 with the detour starting on
Wednesday June 9, 2021.

During construction on June 9, thru traffic of WIS 32 will be detoured using WIS 29 and WIS 160.
There will be two stages of closures on WIS 32. For stage one WIS 32 will be closed from the
WIS 29 interchange to East Green Bay Street. The detour will be taken down for Pulaski Polka
Days. Then the detour will be reset for stage two. In stage two, north of County B to E Green Bay
Street will be open to traffic to improve local access. WIS 32 will be closed from the WIS 29
interchange to the County B roundabout. It will be closed for the milling, CIR, and paving
operations. The schedule and traffic control for the remaining construction activities are still being
determined. The roundabout at County B will remain open for both stages except for a full
closure for one to two days to mill and pave within the roundabout. When milled and paved, the
roundabout will be closed between Mountain Bay Drive and Corporate Way.

Local access to all residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the project.

Temporary Business Signing

Temporary business signing may be placed during the detoured portion of the project by filling out a
WisDOT business signing permit. All temporary business signing needs approval via the permit before
placement to ensure it is in a safe location and does not pose a visual distraction or traffic hazard. The
temporary business signing permit is free. Costs associated with creating the temporary sign are the
responsibility of the business.

Temporary Business Sign permits are available as a fillable-form WORD download on the project
website or you can request one from project engineer Kurt Vogel at (920) 362-1732 or email
kurt.vogel@dot.wi.gov.

In This Together
WisDOT recognizes businesses located in work zones have special needs. It's critical that
customers have access to businesses and that they continue to visit them, regardless of any
road work inconvenience. This program is offered to business and community leaders as an
idea source as they plan for road construction in their area.
