What really matters?
Stewardship
The Blue Grouse Estate Winery team’s philosophy evolves from the
concept of “stewardship”, where our aim is to make everything we
touch better than it was when we found it. We apply this to training Bailey Williamson
our team of employees, the environment that hosts our vineyard winemaker
and home, the vines we grow, the wines we make, the infrastructure
which supports the winery and vineyard, and the economics of our
business model – everything.

People
We care deeply about family and friends, honesty, simplicity and
living a long and healthy life. We believe all this together will make
the Blue Grouse experience a lasting one.
                                                                                                       Paul Brunner

Place
The vineyard’s terroir encompasses wind protection by evergreen
trees, an all-Southern exposure, and a combination of clay and
gravelly soil, all nurtured by clean air and spring water. Thanks
to this exceptional site, the vines require little fertilization and
irrigation; just a drop of passion, a splash of dedication and a pinch
of obsession to make the difference!

                 PINK MILE ROSÉ 2018
The 2018 growing season was slow to start
after a long cold snowy winter. A cool, wet
prolonged spring seemed to turn overnight
into a hotter than normal dry summer. This lead
to some anxious moments due at Fitz wine
due to the Mount Eneas wildfire mid summer.
Autumn gave us a taste of all seasons,
however allowed us good hang time which
helped maintain our signature site acidity.

The 2018 Rose is 100% estate grown Pinot
Noir. Soft jewel in colour with bright fruity
                 aromatics of strawberries, watermelon and
pear. A delicate palate of berries, fruit and
fine acidity. A light bodied elegant wine with
a smooth finish. A refreshing and thoughtful
Rosé to enjoy with tuna niçoise and sunshine.

               RUNABOUT WHITE 2017
               There’s something remarkable about this
floral and stone fruit scented wine. The 2017
Runabout is a much drier wine than its 2016
counterpart - a testament to our commitment
to showcasing the vintage rather than a house
style. Made from 100% estate grown fruit it’s a
true taste of the cool spring, hot & dry summer,
and long warm fall of 2017.

Rose and peach aromatics. Crisp apple,
pineapple and lychee on the palate. A fruit
forward wine that starts ripe and round, but
finishes crisp and refreshing with some good
               weight.

Domaine Roche
On the southern edge of the Naramata Bench, this vineyard
overlooks the city of Penticton and Okanagan Lake. The twenty-
year old ungrafted vines are deeply rooted in a mix of silt, organic
matter and gravel. The gentle westward slope at the base of
Campbell Mountain ensures good drainage and ideal exposure.
We farm our vineyards using organic methods. Environmental
stewardship is important to us for the health of our family and
ecosystem, and for the contribution it makes to the quality of our
wines. This vineyard site adjoins the winery and includes 3 acres
of Schonberger, 1 acre of Zweigelt, 1.12 acres of Chardonnay and
0.63 acres of Pinot noir. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were planted
in summer 2017.

Kozier Organic Vineyard
Planted in 2007, Kozier Organic vineyard is located on the
Naramata bench, 4 km north of the winery. The 15-acre vineyard
is a gently sloping amphitheater, steeper as it approaches the
mountainside. It faces west toward Okanagan lake. Gravel,
sand and organic material from the mountainside above mix
with denser glacial silt. The certified organic farm benefits from
the synergy of a warm microclimate with cool soils ensuring
long, even ripening. Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Viognier and
Gewurztraminer are planted according to variations in slope
orientation and subsoils to meet the needs of each variety.
