EDUCATED
A MEMOIR

•Tara Westover grew up in a fundamentalist
Mormon family of survivalists in Idaho.
•Her father didn’t allow her to attend public
school. She helped her midwife mother,
stockpiled food, and dealt with violent
outbursts from family members.
•Tara decided to educate herself. She learned
enough to enter Brigham Young University.
She eventually attended Harvard and
Cambridge, where she earned a Ph.D.

•Graphic novel that tells the story of the kingdom of Wakanda and its
rulers, the Black Panthers. The current ruler, T’Challa, confronts a
violent uprising led by a superhuman terrorist group in this first
installment of a series.

ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN
WONDERLAND
BY LEWIS CARROLL

• Lewis Carroll is the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodson, an
  Anglican clergyman and lecturer in logic and mathematics at
  Christ Church Oxford.
• He published Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in 1865. Alice
  Liddell, the daughter of the dean of Christ Church, is thought
  by some to be the inspiration for Carroll’s Alice books.
