G’Day Welcome back to the Make Smoking History Collie Speedway for our Championship night. Its been a
long time since we have decided all of our Collie Championships on the same night. Although the numbers are
not as strong as we would have wished for, we are still in for an excellent night of racing.
Covid-19 stopped our last race meeting with the south west lock down. The Modified Sedan State Title will now
be decided on the 26 and 27 March with a full two nights of racing, While three of the original nominations have
withdrawn, another five have come forward to give a total of 28 Modifieds. The Legend Car State Title which
was scheduled for tonight has been moved to the 26 March as well.
The plan is for Juniors, Street Stock and Productions to all run three heat races on Friday night the one heat each
befor finishing our season with some long distance races. New Star and Top Star Juniors will finish with 20 laps
each while the Street Stock Classic will be over 40 Laps. The Modified State Title A Main will be 40 Laps and
Then The Bill Sibbald King of The Road will also be 40 Laps. This is set to be one huge event to finish the
season so make sure it is in your calendar.
Prior to the final weekend of racing we will be bacl on 6 March for the Laurie Matthews Memorial for Speedcars
along with Wingless Sprintcars and all of the sedans.
Looking forward to next season we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the opening of our speedway. I am
sure that we will be having one big season as we recap on much of what has happened throughout the past 50
years. Anyone with any special memories could share them with us

Spry’s Meat Market have come on board with the Collie Racing Drivers Association to sponsor
the Modified Sedan State Title.
The Title was to be run on February 6 but as a result of the Covid-19 lock down the event was
rescheduled to the 26-27 March.
The 27 March is our final night of the season so the decision was made to allow for the Modified
State Title that the end of the season will be changed to a two night race meeting.
Legend Cars will contest their state title on Friday 26 March which is set to see a boost in
numbers with three cars coming from the Eastern States.
All sedan divisions now will be running with the same format which is three heat races each on
Friday night 26 March followed by another heat race each on Saturday 27 March.
New Star Junior Sedans and Top Star Junior Sedans will each end the season with the 20 lap
Prince of the road. Street Stock will end the season with the 40 Lap Street Stock Classic.
Modified Sedans will decide their state title with a 40 Lap A Main and then the Production
Sedans 40 Bill Sibbald King of the Road will end our season.
There is an air of excitement about the format with Modified Sedans having their first two night
state title in a very long time with the highest number of nominations for what seems like an
eternity. The Race of Champions will not be run this year as a result of the addition of the
Modified Sedan State Title
