1Welcome and thank you for joining us for the
144th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the
Masters Obedience Championship and the
Masters Agility Championship. We are pleased
to bring nearly 3,000 of the world's greatest
dogs to compete for the ultimate recognition in
conformation, obedience and agility.
We thank our Exhibitors, Purina Pro Plan,
Sponsors, and others for making this all happen.

TELECAST NOTICE
FOX Sports will televise a program on Monday and Tuesday
afternoons (1-3 PM from Pier 94) on FS2 that will include portions
of live filming of breeds and also, will televise the Groups and BIS
judging on Monday and Tuesday evenings (7-11 PM) from MSG
on FS1.
MISCONDUCT
In order to expedite the Event Committee's handling of
Incidents or Charges of Conduct Prejudicial to the Sport, the
Committee requests, if possible, that charges be received in
writing at the Show site within one hour of the incident so they
may fully investigate & hear testimony and resolve the same day
to the extent possible.
ABSENTEES
Please notify MB-F, Inc. immediately if your dog
will be absent. See Separate Notice on dog ID Ticket.
3FIRST AID
Pier 94
First Aid station attended by an EMT is located to the left
of the Superintendent's office, for any medical needs. Please
see a Security Guard, WKC Staff, MB-F Superintendent or
AKC Field Representative for any medical request.
MSG
Medical Personnel are on duty during the Groups and BIS
judging. See an MSG Security guard, WKC Staff or MB-F
personnel if the need arises.
An automated external difibrillators (AED)
is at the First Aid Station on Pier 94 for
this event and at MSG's First Aid Room.
PROMOTIONAL RIGHTS
All rights to TeleVise, ViDeO TAPe, ADVerTise,
PhOTOGrAPh, PrOmOTe or otherwise share this event
are vested in The WesTminsTer Kennel Club, or in
persons to whom assignments of such rights have been
made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on
the showgrounds at any time while the show is in progress,
do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to
the Club and its partners the right to photograph, televise,
videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and
voice in any manner without further release or consent.
VENDORS
The Kennel Club and its officials are not responsible for the
actions or products of the commercial vendors at this show.
AWARDS OF MERIT
Following the choice of Best of Breed and Selects, the
judges may at their discretion, select Award of Merit
winners from the remaining entrants. The number of
awards that may be made is determined by the size of
the entry:
02-10 entries - 1 Award of Merit
11-20 entries - 2 Awards of Merit
21-30 entries - 3 Awards of Merit
31-40 entries - 4 Awards of Merit
41 + entries - 5 Awards of Merit
4RELEASE PROTOCOL:
Release times are published in this judging program
and are enforced. Dogs Will not be released from the
buildings without the appropriate signed release form. On
Saturday there will be no one available to furnish release
forms after 10:00 P.M. E.S.T. For Sunday, Monday and
Tuesday, if you do not have your dog's admittance ID/
Release form, it must be obtained prior to 11:00 P.M.
E.S.T. for EACH of the venues. It is your responsibility
to have the appropriate release forms and to vacate the
building before the exit doors, ramp and/or elevator
closing hours. Abuse of the Security Personnel will not
be tolerated.
VETERINARIAN'S
RECOMMENDATION
“Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian's
recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal
and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and
have appropriate vaccinations.” This would include up-
to-date rabies shot. (See also page 37, "City Laws")
ENTRANTS OF
MULTIPLE DOGS
If you entered more than one dog and you win Best of Breed
or your child is a Junior Finalist your other dog(s) MUST
remain on the Bench until the published release time.
Your other dog(s) will NOT be released early. Please plan
accordingly.

IMPORTANT - TRANSFERS of dogs from regular classes to Best of Breed/
Variety Competition (Ch. 11 Section 6, AKC Rules) MUST be made to the
Superintendent/Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of any
regular conformation judging at this show. TRANSFERS by Junior Handlers
from Novice to Open Class or from the Open to Master Class MUST be made
to the Superintendent/Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the
show. SUBSTITUTIONS of Junior Showmanship dogs must be made prior to
the judging of the class at the show.
Juniors, who substitute for the original dog they have
entered in the Junior Showmanship Class with a dog
that is not entered in one of the offered classes at this
show, will not incur an additional fee.

Shuttle Bus access upon Release:
When exiting Pier 94 via our shuttle buses, please line up as directed by Security and
Site Control. We thank you in advance for your patience with this process. Site Control
personnel will be available to assist you in getting you and your equipment onto the
buses. Buses will stop at the Gold Star Hotels.
Personal VEHICLE STAGING/LINE UP - ALL SHOW DAYS:
ALL POV access to Pier 94 will be via the "inner roadway." To access this roadway,
please take W. 59th Street heading West from 10th/11th Avenues (towards the Hudson
River) until it ends. The road bends to the left and becomes the inner roadway. Look
for Ground Personnel in fluorescent vests for directions at the turn (located under
the highway). Cars will be dispatched to Pier 94 as space becomes available. Please
have patience in this process and while waiting, secure your hangtag to your rearview
mirror, making sure that your cell number and name are noted on this tag. Kindly
note: since there is only one Pier available for unloading, if possible, have at least one
additional person in your vehicle with you so that you can both unload and one person
drives the car away while the other brings your dog and equipment into the Pier. this
is being done so that we can keep the line moving. Please let Site Control Personnel
in front of the Pier know if you would like help with unloading. Large carts will be
available on site for this purpose.
Loading - 4:30 P.M. Exhibitor Release All days:
The same process listed above applies for the exiting upon release in reverse. We
ask that you not come from the stagiing area to the front of the Pier 94 until you
know your dog and supplies are ready to be picked up. Please note: If your
dog/equipment are not ready to be loaded, we will ask you to
leave and go around--no exceptions.
EXHIBITORS will NOT be permitted to turn into Pier 94 from 55th Street and 12th
Avenue.

Consult Benching and Ring Layout in your packet for ease in finding your benching
row and judging ring.
The Event Committee is advising all exhibitors to give yourself plenty of time to get

SHOW RELEASE GUIDELINES
Please follow the directions of Security and Site
Control personnel and kindly note that it does take
time to load everyone with crates into the buses going
to the Hotels. We appreciate your patience and thank
you for joining us at the Show.
PIER 94
HOTEL BUSES
- Assemble, as directed, in a dedicated line at
the same entrance where you entered Pier 94
in the morning, to be dispatched by Security to
the Hotel buses staged in front of Pier 94.
DIRECT VEHICLE LOADING
- Exhibitors must first line up in staging area
where they will be dispatched to Pier 94 to
load (See page 27 for more details).
Exhibitors are requested to expeditiously load
their vehicles and not leave staging area till
they are ready to load. Kindly follow directions
of site personnel, load safely and keep flashers
on. Your hangtag with your cell number must
be clearly visible.
29RULES AND PROCEDURES
EXHIBITOR TICKET INFORMATION
1. Regardless of the ownership of the dog(s) one
exhibitor’s gate admission for all days per venue
is sent for each dog entered and is needed for
admittance. The person accompanying the dog
must show an admission ticket and the dog
identification before the dog will be admitted.
DO NOT BRING ANY DOGS THAT ARE NOT
ENTERED. There is no provision for unentered
dogs at this show. Exhibitors must preserve their
dog identifications which must be surrendered
when dogs are removed from the show. See also
Premium List pages 7, 11, 20, 24, 39.
2. All regular exhibitor tickets, dog ID's, etc., are sent to
the address noted on the entry form. Owners or the
owners' duly authorized agent are responsible for the
correctness. No duplicate packets are mailed. See
page 11 of the Premium List regarding the Foreign
Mail Option.
3. Regular exhibitor ticket packets returned by the
Post Office marked “Undeliverable” are held at the
show in the Superintendent’s Office on Pier 94.
4. NOTE: Juniors receive a separate admission
pass for all show days, one guardian ticket is
also included. Misuse of this Junior Pass could
result in an Event Committee hearing, removal
from the show and/or exclusion from future
competition at this show.
SECURITY
1. Information regarding hiring private guards through
Security for Pier 94 is included in your entry packet.
NOTE: Private Security at this show is ONLY available
through Ferguson Security. There will be security
coverage at Madison Square Garden, however, there is
no individual personal security guard service available
at MSG.
30OVERNIGHT BENCHING
1. Exhibitors wishing to bench their dogs' overnight
prior to their show day should do so in the designated
areas on Pier 94. These areas will have security guard
presence. PLEASE NOTE: An identification sticker
MUST be affixed to your crate with emergency contact
information NOTED. Stickers are mandatory and may
be obtained at the Superintendent's office. Exhibitors
desiring NOT to bench your dogs in the designated
security areas will be REQUIRED to complete a
liability release form provided by Westminster.
2. Dogs must be removed from these designated areas by
6:00 A.M. the following morning.
JUDGING
1. The conformation judging starts promptly; no exception
for tardiness. During the hours of judging exhibitors are
to be on call and have their dogs ready to bring into the
ring promptly.
2. The owner of the dog or the handler is responsible for the
presence of their dog in the judging ring. There is no rule
of this Club or the American Kennel Club that requires a
judge to wait for an owner or handler to bring his dog into
the ring.
3. WRISTBANDS are required for access to the Ready
Rings. Exhibitor Wristbands may be picked up at the
MB-F Office on Pier 94. You must present your dog's ID
to get your Wristband. Handlers with an Agent number
may also pick up their Wristbands at the Supt. Office on
Pier 94 beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
4. All cell phones, pagers, beepers, etc. must be on
“mute” or “vibrate” when in the ring area. Persons
with ringing or toning cell phones, pagers, beepers,
etc. will be escorted from the ring area. No cell phone
photos/videos are permitted.
315. A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to
the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging.
AKC approval is not required.
The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same
manner (ground, table, or ramp).
At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds
may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all
levels of competition including Group and Best in Show
judging: Lagotti Romagnoli, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling
Retrievers, American Water Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels,
English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer
Spaniels, Cirnechi dell'Etna, Grand Basset Griffon
Vendeens, Standard Schnauzers, American Staffordshire
Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated
Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish
Spitz, Keeshonden, Entlebucher Mountain Dogs, Finnish
Lapphunds, Icelandic Sheepdogs, Norwegian Buhunds,
Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs and
Norrbottenspets (Misc.).
At the discretion of the judge, the following breed may
be judged on a table or on a ramp through all levels of
competition including Group and Best in Show judging:
Mudik (Misc.).
At the discretion of the judge through all levels of
competition including Group and Best in Show judging,
the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a
ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets.
The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through
all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels,
Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow
Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at
AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where
a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes
Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4–6 Month
Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-
Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions
that offer Group and BIS competitions.
Ramps can be used in emergency situations to judge any
breed. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is
not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the
option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund.
For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the
discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds.
32LOSS OR DAMAGE
1. The WKC, the Superintendent and site management will
not be responsible for the loss or damage to any dog or
property of any exhibitor, whether the result of accident
or any other cause. It is expressly understood that every
dog at the show is in the care and custody and control
of its owner or handler during the time the dog is on the
show premises. See also the Agreement on the reverse of
the entry form.
2. The welfare of an exhibitor’s/spectator’s child is the
responsibility of the exhibitor/spectator. It is expressly
understood that exhibitors/spectators will exercise
control and restraint over their children while they are
on the show premises. The use of child strollers is NOT
recommended.
3. The Westminster Kennel Club and its Superintendent
caution all persons entering the show site and show grounds
to be observant of hazards which may exist, including,
but not limited to: Condition of the site/grounds, parking/
loading/unloading areas, entrances, floors and stairways,
elevators and escalators, floor coverings, walkways,
tenting/canopies, electrical appliances, cords and fittings,
exercise pens, and the presence of animals. All persons
should take into consideration this is a sporting event
and dress, act and exercise caution appropriate for the
activity involved. All persons entering the show, the
grounds, site and show areas for whatever purpose do so
entirely at their own risk. By virtue of entering the show,
the entrant has indicated their acceptance of the terms
listed in this premium list and assumes all risks involved.
4. No entry fees are returned if the show cannot open or
be completed by reason of riots, wars, civil disturbances,
national emergencies, health emergencies, extreme
weather conditions, fire and Act of God, public emergency,
act of a public enemy, strikes, and the dictates of law
enforcement or of the owner(s) of the grounds and/or
facilities or any other cause beyond the control of The
Westminster Kennel Club, nor shall Pier 94 or Madison
Square Garden Corporation or the Superintendent be
liable in any way. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and
spectators is of paramount importance and in the event it
is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion,
no refund of entry fee will be made. To find out about any

Hotline (877) 252-3229.
33EQUIPMENT
1. The Club and its Superintendent provide assistance to
exhibitors and handlers in unloading and placing their
crates and grooming tables. Benching/grooming areas will
be arranged in rows; aisles will be to facilitate exhibitors
and to expedite the safe and smooth operation of the show.
By entering this show, exhibitors and handlers agree to
follow all directions of the special assistants charged with
arranging and maintaining orderly conditions in these
areas. Abuse of these assistants will not be tolerated.
2. Grooming will take place at the dog's bench in each
of the show venues. Grooming tables in excess of 24 x
48 inches are not permitted at Pier 94. Tables must be
folded when not in use. Benching/Grooming of dogs in
areas other than those specified is not permitted. All
crates/tack units must be stacked.
Grooming tables will be provided by the Club for the
BOB/V Winners at MSG. These tables are the property
of The Westminster Kennel Club and may not be
removed from the show site. See also Premium List
page 37, items #3, #5 and #8.
3. No Flexi/retractable leads or stacking trainer
equipment permitted at this show.
4. Fabric crates are not permitted at this show. ALL
CRATED DOGS MUST BE IN CRATES that permit the
public to easily view the dog.
5. No private exercise pens are allowed anywhere in each
of the show venue precincts. Public exercise pens will
be for multiple dogs at all times. Dogs must be on lead
in exercise pens. No exceptions. A separate area will be
provided for bitches in season. Owners/handlers are to
clean-up after their dogs. Blocking off exercise pens is
NOT permitted.
6. A small chair can be placed between bench and
grooming table. For the safety of all, no other tables
and other furniture are allowed in the benching areas.
Aisles will be delineated by taping. No aisle obstruction
is permitted.
7. Handbills, circulars, or other printed matter may not be
distributed at this show.
8. All cords on floor must be taped down to avoid tripping
hazards.
9. Neither WKC nor the Superintendent is responsible for
any equipment or supplies or other belongings left on the
benches or at any of the show venues.
