DATING BRIDAL SHOWERS
Tupperware Bridal Showers are easy for the host - you plan the festivities! They are great for the
bride - she receives products he'll use for a lifetime! Guests love it - they don't have to go shopping! You
are actually holding two parties in one. The guests will be purchasing for the bride, and they will also have
the opportunity to order for themselves.
You'll want to suggest Bridal Showers at every party! Give a tiny treasure to anyone who provides
you with information about an upcoming wedding.
Get names from newspaper engagement announcements. Then call the mother or mail the news
clipping along with a catalog and letter from you, suggesting the Tupperware shower.
Participate in Bridal Shows. Hand out information sheets describing how the shower works.
Have the shower option on door prize drawing sheets and event registration forms.
SHOWER VARIATIONS
1. Surprise Shower - Hostess collects money from guests 2-3 weeks before the shower, and to-
gether they decide products for the bride. You place the order and have it displayed at the party. Party as
usual. At then end, let the host share the great news with the bride that all the Tupperware on display is
hers! Party guests may order for themselves as usual.
2. Guests are invited to bring their money to the shower, where they sign a gift card provided by
consultant, and place their money in a pretty box or Tupperware canister that you provide. At the end of
the demonstration, you announce to the bride that her friends would like her to select $______ in Tupper-
ware gifts. Guests would be given a catalog and order form for their personal order, if they desire. The
bride' order form could be marked paid, rolled up and tied with ribbons. The invitation
should explain how the shower works and that the guest may also order. It could in-
clude the following poem:
Tupperware showers are really great -
This one's for _________ and it's sure to rate!
Just bring your money gift and watch with pleasure
As she selects Tupperware she's sure to treasure!
3. Using the bride's "wish list", make a poster of the items she wants. Cut product pictures, along
with description and prices from the catalog. Guests can sign their name on the product(s) they are order-
ing, and then fill out their order form. It's a good idea to provide each guest with two order forms, one
marked "for bride" and one marked "for me".
On options 2 & 3, the delivery method should be decided with the host. You may prefer for the
guests' orders be delivered to the host and the bride's gifts delivered to her personally by you. If so, make
an attractive gift presentation by wrapping the big box.
PREPARATION and SHOWER ACTIVITIES
In most cases, the host agrees that the bride will receive the host gifts and free Tupperware from
the party. This should be confirmed before the party.
Sit down with the bride, if possible, to help her make her "gift registry".
Monthly flyers can be mailed as invitations/reminders and should include an explanation of how
the shower works, along with party information.
Use a white cloth and a few white decorations for your display table. You'll be able to use them for
each shower you conduct. Or use a few bows and netting in the wedding colors.The host might want to ask each guest to bring a favorite recipe or two to the shower on a rec-
ipe card. The recipes could be presented in a recipe box, a gift from you or the host.
A party favor for each guest could be a smidget or midget filled with bird seed to toss at the end
of the wedding. They are attractive covered with net and tied with satin ribbon, using the bride's colors.
Present the bride with tiny treasures, either made into a corsage or in a gift bag, or attached to a
"clothesline". Make a clothesline for the bride by putting 2 of each tiny treasure on a ribbon; hide in a
large bowl. As she pulls the ribbon, you tell a story about each pair. For example: Two Stuffable Bowl
keychains with a quarter in each so they can always call each other when they'll be late. Two pill boxes
(or Smidgets) because it's ok for him to have a headache too! A "his" and "hers" toothbrush holder and
citrus peelers. Two funnels - hers for the kitchen, his for the garage.
Read this poem as you begin the shower:

Because you are you and your friendship we treasure,
We want you to choose what gives you most pleasure!
Selections are many, varied and gay
For kitchen, for bath, for work and for play!
So on with the fun and then with care,
We'll help you select your Tupperware!
Plan the demo to be fun, brief, and informative. An idea is to use a "Something Old, Something
New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue" theme for the products you demonstrate. Demonstrate
sets to make ordering easy for the guests. Remember to include some of the basics in your display, as
well as new products.
Focus on the bride. Help her with her selections. Date a party with her for after the wedding.
GAMES
Introductory Game
Have everyone introduce themselves and recommend a Tupperware product to
the bride.
Describe the Groom
Divide guests into 2 teams. Using index cards with each letter of the alphabet,
hold up one card at a time. Guests call out a word describing the groom beginning with
the letter on the card. The first one heard gets the card for her team. Encourage guests
to let imaginations run wild as they describe both his good and not-so-good qualities.
Winning team is the one who collects the most cards.
Door Prizes
Give a prize to the person:
married the longest
married most recently
mother of the bride
mother of the groom
matron of honor
with wedding date closest to bride'sDress the Bride
Divide the group into two teams. Give each a roll of toilet paper. Give them 2 minutes to
make a dress for the bride, using one team member as a model. The bride chooses her favorite.
What the Bride Wears
Give guests one minute to list everything the bride might wear on her wedding day. The
guest with the longest list wins. Have her read her list for fun!
Match the Bride
Ask everyone to write down 10 of the bride's favorite items. Then bride gives her favorites.
The guest with the most matches is the winner. Select 10 questions from the following or add your
own: flower, color, candy, fruit, TV show, song, vegetable, holiday, beverage, car, hobby, vacation
spot, day of the week.
The Don'ts of Matrimony
Pass out paper with 1-9 on left of paper. Each number should be followed with the word
"don't" followed by a letter from the word "matrimony". Example:
1. Don't M
2. Don't A
3. Don't T
4. Don't R, etc.
Have guests fill in something you would not want a husband to do. As each guest reads her
list, the bride can choose a winner based on humor and originality. Examples
1. Don't Mess up the bathroom.
2. Don't Argue with me.
3. Don't Track in mud.
4. Don't Relax all weekend.
5. Don't Invite your mother over at the last minute.
6. Don't Make fun of my cooking.
7. Don't Outlaw shopping sprees.
8. Don't Nag.
9. Don't Yell.
Kitchen Scramble
Scramble the letters of the following kitchen items. Give each guest a paper. Have guests
unscramble. First one finished wins.

Have guests call out the answers. Play individually or as a team.
