Introduction

Youth for Christ Northern Ireland was established in 1947 and is part of the world-wide family of YFC which
operates in over 133 countries and has over 27,000 staff and volunteers working around the world. The
movement began in the United States in 1944 with Billy Graham as the first full-time worker.

Through the years Youth for Christ NI has been involved in a range of programmes including massive youth
crusades (1940s, 50s & 60s), a mobile coffee shop and drop-in centre (1970s), youth centred events, Mannafest,
and summer teams – Summerserve, Project32 (1980s, 1990s, 2000s) and more recently year teams, drop-in
centres and traveling teams. Its first objective was "evangelism of youth" by way of rallies, Bible clubs, and other
means. Today our strategy involves utilising a diversity of programs that will effectively engage young people
from all backgrounds and introduce them to Jesus, while supporting them to reach their full potential physically,
emotional, educationally and spiritually. These programmes include evangelism, discipleship, training, schools
work, summer schemes, missions, social action, mentoring, and cross community.

The mission of Youth for Christ Northern Ireland is:
          To see an unreached generation of young people, transformed by the love of Jesus
                                        and reach their full potential.

Operating out of the National Office on the Albertbridge Road, Youth for Christ Northern Ireland is managed by
the National Director Suzi Mclean and governed by a Board of Directors, representing various skills, churches
and backgrounds. It currently has 10 affiliated drop-in centres, 6 autonomous and 4 managed by the National
office.

           We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons:
                                                    Father, Son and Holy Spirit;

                                               personal return in power and glory;

 We believe that the salvation of lost and sinful people is by the grace of God

 We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the
