The Japanese prefecture of Okinawa includes over 150 islands in the
East China Sea between Taiwan and mainland Japan. The largest
island of the group, known as the Ryukyu Islands, is Okinawa, named
after the prefecture and, at roughly 466 square miles, it is the smallest
of the five main islands of Japan. Evidence shows that the islands were
inhabited during the Early Shell Mound period, over 5000 years ago.
Following World War II, Okinawa became an important site for US

Japan’s northern prefecture of Hokkaido is home to its second largest

Joman period in Japanese pre-history, the inhabitants of Hokkaido
were hunter-gatherers. It is generally believed that the indigenous
Ainu people’s spirituality originated during the Joman period when
they believed in natural spirits. Throughout the centuries, the lifestyle
became more agricultural, and trade ensued with the south. When
Russia seemed to be a threat, the Tokugawa shogunate took control

The island country of Taiwan, whose main island covers over 13,800
square miles shares maritime borders with Japan, China, and the
Philippines. Two thirds of the country is made up of five rugged forested
mountain ranges that are home to a diverse population of wildlife. The
western third is where most of the cities and towns are located, on gently
rolling plains. Arrive in the capital, Taipei, known for its blended Chinese
culture with influences from Japan, Southeast Asia and America. Visit
its highlights, particularly the National Palace Museum with Chinese
artifacts dating back 5000 years, historic Fort San Domingo, and the

St. Augustin. Fly north to the City of Laoag and visit Saint Williams
Cathedral, Museo Ilako, and the uniquely constructed Saint Augustine’s
Church, also known as the Paoay Church. Explore Vigan, an UNESCO

The Republic of Korea is the southern part of the Korean Peninsula with a population

Fly to the Gobi Desert, one of the most famous and exotic areas in the world. The
majority of the Bactrian camels live in this area. You will have an opportunity to take a
morning trek for viewing the stunning landscape and intriguing wildlife. Yol Valley is the
narrow canyon of a river that flows through Zuun Saikhan Mountain.

Khongor Sand Dunes Gobi Erdene Ger Camp
Drive to Khongor Sand Dunes which is the largest accumulation of sand in the Gobi
Gurvan Saikhan National Park. These high dunes are called singing sands by locals
because of the various sounds it makes when the winds blow.

Bayanzag, Flaming Cliffs Three Camel Lodge
Continue our journey to Bayanzag, the Flaming Cliffs to explore the Gobi Desert’s
Cemetery of Dinosaurs. Petrified forests, remains of mammals and skeleton of a hornless
rhinoceros are found in this area.
