The ASEAN-India Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) conference marked 25 years of
dialogue partnership between the regional bloc and India, hosted by Singapore,

Our deepest condolences on the passing of past President

Mr G Ramachandran on 6th March 2018 in India.

SICCI Chairman Dr R. Theyvendran and the Board of Directors express
their heartfelt condolences to the family and wish to place on record
SICCI’s thanks and gratitude for his leadership and contributions to
the Indian business community during his term as President (1966-68,
1973-74 and 1982-86).

Mr Ramachandran was a well-known and popular leader of the Indian
business community. At SICCI’s 60th anniversary dinner in 1985, Mr
Ramachandran famously said, ““Although we are known as snake-
charmers, peanut vendors, hole-in-the-wall shop owners,it is perhaps
true to say that Indian businessmen were among the first established
multinational trading houses in the history of the region.”

His legacy and works will live on forever. May his soul rest in peace.
