Construction Industry - White Card Training Services NSW are funding this program for students who are 17 years plus and in school. ARE YOU KEEN TO START A CAREER IN CONSTRUCTION? You'll need to obtain a WorkCover NSW WHS Induction Training White Card before you can commence work on any construction site in NSW. This course will ensure you meet the general level of work health and safety training for the construction industry. This white card course will teach you the health and safety legislative requirements of constructions work, construction hazards and risk control measures, health and safety communication and reporting processes, and incident and emergency response procedures. Upon successful completion of the course you will obtain your Induction Training White Card NSW so you can legally work on a NSW construction site. ELIGIBILITY - STUDENTS NEED TO BE 17 YEARS PLUS AND STILL AT SCHOOL TAFE NSW is able to deliver this fee waiver training as a Smart and Skilled Provider. The course involves 6 hours of face to face tuition. Maximum delivery per group is 20 participants. Minimum group size is 10 participants. US universities will no longer require nor recommend students to sit SAT Subject Tests nor the optional writing

What is the Junior Science Olympiad Exam? 26 July 2021 The Junior Science Olympiad Exam is designed to take science students in years 7 to 10 to the next level. The exam is based on general science content (biology, chemistry and physics) and assumes students have a good knowledge of the Australian Curriculum – Science up to a Year 10 level. Some questions in the exam may also involve higher-level content (such as might be encountered by an extended Year 10 student). A range of analysis questions will also be included for which any necessary extra information is provided. The exam is held online, is two hours long, and questions are multiple choice. Students will receive a certificate indicating their grade based on their exam performance. MyRoad: Free Online Mentoring Program for Year 10-12 Women
Many young Australians don’t get the opportunity to meet and connect with industry role models. This can be even
harder to do for young people in rural, regional and remote areas of Australia.
MyRoad helps to address this problem. MyRoad gives young people the opportunity to engage with volunteer
mentors from many different jobs and industries. This helps them better understand career paths available to them
and the changing world of work.

Industry Live 2021 - Free Online Live Career Exploration Events
What is Industry Live?
Join Beacon Foundation online for Industry Live, a series of live career awareness and exploration events via video
conference. We invite expert industry panellists to share their stories, top tips for success, and answer questions
from school students across Australia in a discussion led by a facilitator.
Why Industry Live?
• Industry representatives can’t always come together with schools at short notice to answer questions, share
ideas, provide career education and ideas to help inspire students’ future pathways.
• The convenience of videoconferencing allows us to use the power of technology to connect students,
teachers and industry volunteers without leaving the classroom or workplace.
• Give your students the opportunity to hear first-hand from a wide range of people in different jobs with
diverse pathways to those jobs.
• Provide your students with ideas to help them choose the best career for them.
• This 45 minute facilitated discussion format provides an engaging context to allow students access to
industry mentors they might not otherwise have.

Creative Careers Expo
10 and 11 June 2021
Our annual Creative Careers Expo relaunches over two days in 2021 with a packed program of talks from artists
and creative professionals, breakout workshops and speed meets, alongside an array of tertiary stallholders.
The expo provides inspiration and understanding of diverse career paths in the creative industries, for school
age young people and job seekers.
Previous tertiary partners and stallholders include AFTRS, JMC Academy, NAISDA Dance College, National Art
School (NAS), National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), TAFE NSW, University of Sydney, University of
Technology Sydney (UTS), University of Wollongong, UNSW Sydney, Western Sydney University – and more.

Surveying Work Experience
Surveying is the measurement and mapping of our surrounding environment using mathematics and specialised
technology. Land surveyors are involved with a diverse variety of projects from land subdivision to tunnel building
and major construction. Licensed or registered surveyors are experts in the profession who interpret and navigate
legal aspects of land ownership. They also give advice and provide information to guide the work of engineers,

NYSF Year 12 Program - Inspiring Australia's Young Scientists for 2022
Opens early March 2021
In 2020, there will be three separate sessions running for the NYSF Year 12 Program with the following locations and
dates. Each session has places for up to 200 students.
Session A: Wednesday 1 to Saturday 11 January – Canberra, The Australian National University
Session B: Wednesday 8 to Saturday 18 January – Brisbane, The University of Queensland
Session C: Wednesday 15 to Saturday 25 January – Canberra, The Australian National University
Application dates: Applications are open from 1 March to 31 May each year.

The NYSF Year 12 Program is a 12-day residential program designed to give students a broader understanding of the
diverse study and career options available in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and to
encourage continued studies in these fields. At the NYSF Year 12 Program run in January each year, participants will:
• visit science and technology related laboratories and facilities
• go on site tours and listen to lecturesParticipants also take part in sessions on entrepreneurship, critical thinking, how to work together effectively,
and more. The focus is not solely on academic achievements, but on developing well-rounded individuals who
have the skills and confidence to determine their futures.
