At Lamett we strive to offer a collection range to suit every personality. Our mission,
for us, is a true passion: selecting the right trees, choosing which parts of the trunk
to use, how we work and finish the boards. It takes a lot of patience and love for
nature for our collection to take shape.
Our parquet range is based on what nature can offer us. Not the other way around.
There is no better designer than nature: each individual oak is unique in terms of
design, colour and beauty.

Wood – and oak in particular – is naturally rich in shades, with countless variations in
patterns and grain structure. Its structure is influenced by where the oak grows, the

climate, seasons and of course time. Some trees survive for over 200 years. Each tree
is unique, with its own authentic character.
For each collection, the boards we use are subject to specific standards. For example,
based on the number of knots, the presence of grooves, shading and other quirks of
nature. Traditional techniques bring out the character of the wood, be it tough and
sturdy or sleek and elegant. All of which is possible with oak.

Continually upgrading our production processes serves to ensure a constant and optimum quality. In less than 15 years, Lamett has grown into one of the most important parquet flooring specialists
And yet, this involves a lot of craftsmanship: scraping out and filling of knots, surface distressing, in Europe. As a producer and distributor, we have built up an excellent reputation for top quality,
grain weathering techniques,… Almost everything is achieved manually. finish and service. We are proud of our achievements!
Lamett takes no half measures: our floors are delivered ready for use. These floors can be enjoyed

Lamett’s main distribution centre is in Deerlijk, Belgium. From here, our products are distributed
throughout Europe and beyond. Some collections are oiled here, manually and with attention to

Here, our craftsmen use the latest techno-

PARQUET FLOORING?
IN LOVE WITH OAK
We love oak! Oak is typical for its natural colour variations: yellow-brown to
dark-brown. Unfinished oak is very neutral in colour. Additional treatments
such as age smoking, staining, aging and/or colouring of boards will produce
for you the floor of your choice.
MANY COLLECTIONS & COLOURS
We want your parquet floor to perfectly suit your interior style. Rural or
modern, light or dark: whatever the interior, we have the perfect solution.
UNDERFLOOR HEATING
Parquet and underfloor heating go perfectly together. All our collections,
with the exception of Vienna, can be installed on underfloor heating. Not
every type of underfloor heating is allowed. Make sure you are well informed.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Parquet flooring is quite complex and requires much technical expertise.
With our many years of experience we know the process through and
through. For us it is a matter of course: advising you before, during and even
years after installation of your parquet floor.
20 YEARS WARRANTY
Our parquet floors come with a 20-year warranty. If your Lamett parquet
flooring is installed and maintained according to the instructions, durability
for many years will be guaranteed.

Humidity and parquet
flooring
Wood is a natural product and is sen-
sitive to the relative humidity in the
room. An optimum humidity level of
45-65% applies. The fluctuating hu-
midity during the seasons will cause
your parquet to expand and contract
a little. This is a natural process with
parquet.
Fortunately, this is easy enough to
manage: good ventilation is a key fac-
tor. Does the air still seem too dry?
In that case try using a humidifier.

Oil or varnish?
Both have their advantages!
With oiled parquet, the oil is applied and wiped off until the wood fibres are completely saturated. The oil offers

a repellent layer that protects against dirt and moisture. This layer is enhanced based on a weekly and semi-
annual maintenance programme. This maintenance is important. Otherwise you will soon find stains on your
floor. Never use pure water on oiled parquet flooring: always use a proprietary soap (e.g. Woca Natural Soap).
When varnish is applied on parquet, a film is formed on the surface that fully seals the pores in the wood.
This serves to better protect the parquet against moisture. A varnished parquet floor can be well-maintained
with an all-purpose cleaner. Over time, a grey appearance may become visible in places where people tread a
lot. These micro scratches can be remedied by maintaining your floor annually with a polish (e.g. Bona Wood
Floor Polish).

Scratching... prevention is better than cure

Small scratches and stains in your parquet floor can be repaired with the right treatment.
Naturally, prevention is better than cure! With these tips you can enjoy your parquet for longer, with fewer worries:
• Attach pads under the legs of tables and chairs.
• Do lift a piece of furniture if you want to move it. Dragging it will not be beneficial for your furniture or your floor.
• Try to avoid objects with a sharp point (such as cutlery) falling on the floor.
• Regularly maintain your floor with the recommended proprietary products.
This makes your parquet floor less prone to damage.
• If you are vacuuming, make sure the brush bar is engaged.

Carcassonne is an original parquet floor with an aged and
rugged look. The authentic saw grooves from the sawmill are
visible on the parquet surface. These are random and can be
lighter or stronger depending on the density of the wood.
The wood we select has beautiful weathered knots and cracks
which are partially left open on purpose. They give the collection
an exclusive, rustic look.
A special oil is applied to the surface which gives a finish with
optimal protection.

SOLID OR MULTI-LAYER PARQUET?
PLEASE EXPLAIN
A solid parquet consists of a solid block of wood. A tongue and groove fit is then provided. Most
people think that a solid board is the solution for parquet floors. But solid parquet is prone to shrink-
age and expansion. For this reason it is often not recommended. However, if you accept that a
solid board ‘lives’ and can shrink or expand during winter and summer, there is no problem.
Lamett’s Vienna collection is the only solid parquet we use.
Multi-layer parquet, also often called laminate parquet or composite parquet, is comprised of 3
or more layers of wood that are placed over each other at right angles. The top layer is hardwood
(Lamett uses oak). This layer is at least 2.5 mm thick; those underneath are made of wood products
based on coniferous or chipped timber material. Due to the right-angle gluing, there is minimal
expansion etc. compared with solid parquet. Multi-layer parquet is much more stable.
PARQUET IN THE KITCHEN OR THE
BATHROOM? YES, BUT...
Parquet can be installed in the kitchen or bathroom but extra precautions are necessary. Therefore
this tends to be discouraged by us. Experience has taught us that even with excellent maintenance
and thorough precautions, it is very difficult to keep your parquet flooring problem-free in these
areas. For this reason the Lamett guarantee does not apply to kitchen and bathroom installations.
