On behalf of the Advanced Practicing Podiatrists – High Risk Foot Group (APP-HRF), we would
like to extend this exciting opportunity for partnership and/or exhibition to your company for the
Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention (LEAP) Conference in October 2020.
The LEAP Conference has consistently delivered capacity attendance, international keynote
speakers as well as excellent trade and partner opportunities alongside a holistic, relevant and
contemporary scientific program. In 2018 we had more than 225 delegates from a range of
disciplines including podiatry (hospital, community and private practice) and nursing from
Australia and internationally. We envision 2020 will be our best conference yet. The scientific
and organizing committees are preparing a stimulating program focusing on assessment,
diagnosis, medical and surgical management of people with limb-threatening foot problems.
We will focus on translational science (ie how to apply evidence to practice) as well as practical
applications on data collection, analysis and relevance to service improvement.
We expect to attract a capacity audience of 200+ delegates from around Australia and further
abroad. It is anticipated that this event will be a highlight on the 2020 high risk foot calendar,
with demand likely to well exceed availability of registrations.
The program will consist of keynote addresses and invited local speakers over two full days,
with the program still being developed. We have one confirmed international keynote speaker
with a further announcement pending, and have a confirmed booking with the MCG for Friday
2nd and Saturday 3rd October 2020.
Premium partnership is available to one Company that would like to generously support this
event and includes bragging rights for the entire 2 days. There will also be a raft of additional
partner opportunities including breakfast, product and coffee cart sponsorships amongst others,
designed to give you the best opportunity to position your products and services amongst our
delegates.
The exhibition area in 2020 will be in a much improved and more spacious area, the Betty
Cuthbert Lounge, which is right next to the Olympic room where plenary sessions will be held.
Exhibitors can expect to see all delegates at session breaks including morning tea, lunch and
afternoon tea on both days. The Organizing Committee views the trade exhibition as an integral
component of the conference program. A variety of products, services, technology innovations
and advanced therapies help to broaden the awareness and knowledge base of the delegates
while enhancing clinical practice.

PROFESSOR
WILLIAM JEFFCOATE
Professor William Jeffcoate was appointed as an endocrinologist in Nottingham
in 1979, and subsequently established a specialist foot clinic in 1982 for the care
of diabetic foot disease. He resigned from his full-time post in 1997 to focus on
studying disease of the foot in diabetes in order to build an evidence-based foundation
for the management of diabetic foot complications.
This led to the beginning of the Foot Ulcer Trials Unit in 2002, which he established
with Professor Frances Game.
Professor Jeffcoate has designed and completed several large, multicenter and
multinational trials and has also undertaken repeated systemic reviews on the topic
of infection of foot ulcers. Other major interests have focused on the pathogenesis
of the acute Charcot foot, as well as the role played by neuropathy in the development
of arterial calcification.
After spending years on multiple editorial and advisory boards, he is currently the
Clinical Lead of the National Diabetes Foot Care Audit of England and Wales (NDFA).
