CLANDON HOUSE AND HATCHLANDS PARK (NT)
Clandon Park House is an early 18th-century grade I listed Palladian mansion in West Clandon, near Guildford in Surrey. In
2015, a serious fire broke out effectively leaving the house a shell. Visiting now presents a unique opportunity to see the
bare bones of this grand house in its post-repair state. You can follow two covered walkways, one into the ground and the
second into the basement spaces (Please wear sturdy footwear). There are two formal gardens on either side of the house, and
nearby is a Māori meeting house, one of only four outside New Zealand, that was brought to England in the late 19th century.
After our short visit we will journey onto Hatchlands Park. The house was the work of celebrated architect Robert Adam and
his influence can be seen in interiors throughout the house. Today, you can see the Cobbe Collection of paintings, and fine
furniture, or just enjoy a stroll in the gardens.

Come and visit Bodiam Castle, which is a 14th century moated castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex. The castle is a quad-
rangular plan, and interestingly it has no keep, having its various chambers built around the outer defensive walls and inner
courts. Its corners and entrance are marked by towers, and topped by crenellations. The castle sits in an artificial watery land-
scape which indicates that the display was an important aspect of the castle’s design as well as defence. You will have time to
explore this wonderful castle and to wander round and enjoy the stunning scenery.

creative planting which are delightful whatever the season or weather. 18th century planting ensures that the garden has

 BRUGES CHRISTMAS MARKET (BY EUROTUNNEL)
Come with us on our most popular trip for the last several years, and see the beautiful city of Bruges at Christmas. On route
we will stop at a famous chocolate factory where you will be able to purchase extremely tempting home-made chocolates, all
the famous branded tobaccos and some unmissable deals on spirits. The “Venice of the North” as the city is often referred to,
is a simply stunning medieval city, with its many fine old buildings and tranquil canals. You will have plenty of time to explore
this city, perhaps on a horse drawn carriage ride through the cobbled streets, and see the wonderful Christmas market stalls
and Ice Rink. There are many restaurants to choose from where you can have a relaxing meal and maybe a glass of wine or
two, and of course the world famous Belgian Waffles are available throughout the city.
