The “Now You See It, Now You Don’t”

There is no question that when collar dams become
extreme a more aggressive approach is needed to
minimize the problem. The best way to address a
problem that is this pronounced is with a sod cutter.
Once the sod is removed, excess soil or sand buildup
can then be removed to re-establish positive surface
drainage. This is followed by replacement of the sod.
When completed in this manner, weak turf suffering
from collar dams is eliminated and playing
conditions improved.

Upcoming Lady Putters Club Season By Tracy Battson
As spring approaches, it is time to find your putter and get ready for another fun season of “golfing”
on the putting greens! We will be starting on the first Monday in May and will keep you up to date
over the next couple months with articles in the April and May Foremast.
Fran Hammack has left a big hole to fill in our group, so it is taking five of us to take up the charge. Our team is
being lead by Paula Gallagher, along with Teri McClean, Pat Stobie, Marcia Hawkins and myself, Tracy Battson.
Note that this season will only be for Alderbrook residents; however you may still bring a guest.
We are looking forward to seeing you all in May!

a Brief Intro, History & Purpose
Following the establishment of Alderbrook Golf &

community was forming. Thus in 1974 the Alderbrook
