Rules / Guidelines: Kumite: WUKF Rules, Aka – red gloves and belt, Shiro – white gloves and belt (blue gloves and belt permitted), Ages 12 and under must wear helmet and vest, All participants must wear groin shield and gum shield(exception categories with helmet), shin protectors are permitted (not for Shobu Ippon), Girls 13 years and above must wear chest protection On each Tatami we have helmets, vests, belts and gloves in different sizes. Kata: 2 Rounds only in Karate Kata Individual categories 11 to 24, all other categories 1 round(final), the 1st round selected the best 6, the 2nd round is final round, Accumulated scores from both rounds will determine the best 3, the ‚7th Kyu and under‘ categories can repeat kata, participants can wear own belt No Bunkai’s in Team or Pair categories Kihon Basic: 1 Round, every technique 3 times (Kiai on the last every technique): Shiko Dachi – Choku Tsuki, Shiko Dachi – Age Uke, Zenkutsu Dachi – Mae Geri Breaking test: 1 Round, each participant has to choose by self how to break the wooden board or concrete blocks, techniques that endanger other participants or spectators are prohibited Kihon Basic and Breaking test is a Point System like Kata. In Karate categories all participants have to wear white Karate Gi. Exception parents in ‚Child/Parents‘ category. In Kumite Categories 4 Medals awarded to 1st, 2nd and joint 3rd places. All other Categories 3 Medals awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. If less than 4 competitors, category will be merged with the next available category and the cancellation of categories is at the discretion of the organisers. After Closing Date: no changes, no refund Each club has 2 experienced referees to bring. (clubs with more than 20 competitors has to bring 3 referees) Registration is only possible through a club. DECLARATION: It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that they have their accident insurance policy valid for the duration of the tournament. Competing in this competition is done at the competitor’s own risk. The organizers do not accept liability for any injury or loss. By participating in this event all participants accept this waiver and understand the risks of injury in competing. Furthermore,the competitors hereby release the organizers its agents, successors and volunteers from any and all liabilities arising out of or connected with any loss, damage, injury or expenses suffered or sustained by the competitor as a consequence or in connection with his/her participation in the competition or any activity related thereto. By participating in this event all participants or guardians also agree to allow, without compensation, the unrestricted use of any photographs, films or videotapes by the tournament organizers. Each club/coach is responsible for ensuring that each participant knows and accepts these guidelines.
