Introduction

To allow the learners to effectively gain knowledge in the field of waste separation,
an interactive online learning platform was set up. The open-source frameworks
moodle was used as the IT backend of the learning platform, which allows an
efficient creation of high-quality interactive learning content.
The platform was made accessible via the internet on many platforms (computer,
tablets or smartphones) and is designed in a way, that even for people with less
experience in the use of IT tools it is easy to use.
The platform is connected to the website of the project consortium, so all
dissemination efforts directly have an positive impact onto the use and long-term
sustainability of the work.
The use of widely-used frameworks also has the distinctive advantage that the
course/material can be easily exported onto other platforms, ensuring that the
resources spent on the output create an long-term impact and can be of value for
other, future projects.

Stage 1 November 2018 IMPLEMENTATION and INCREASE

During the Multiplier Event in Vienna (November 2018), the basic requirements for
the creation of the e-learning platform were identified. The members from the
partner countries were able to contribute their ideas and wishes and were given an
introduction to the operation of the online tool.
Workshops were held in Vienna for the operation of the moodle platform. They also
included the production of videos and animated video clips. In addition,
requirements and ideas for the project group target 50+ were developed during a
design thinking workshop. The question was asked what special needs of the
learning platform and the learning material must be met.
In addition, initial requirements for the project website were discussed.

Stage 2 January 2019 – July 2019
PRODUCTION, IMPLEMENTATION and DISSIMINATION

By email and Skype meetings, Umblick and the project management coordinated
the creation of the website and the platform and updated the partners about the
progress.
During the project meeting in Campobasso the website was presented to the
partners and further development proposals were made. This was followed by
further agreements by mail and Skype meeting to make necessary adjustments.

The Project website sweep.eco
https://www.sweep.eco/

The website is available in the languages of the partner countries and in English. The
other parts are in English. The language can be set via flag icons as well as via a
dropdown menu.
Contributions were made by all partner countries for the content and translation
into the respective national language.

On the homepage of the website, a picture of empty plastic bottles and the quote
from Antoine de Lavoisier "nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is
transformed", visitors to the site agree on the theme and content of the project. In
addition, the partnership between the international project partners becomes
apparent.

The menu navigation leads to:
   • Project: This page explains the purpose of the SWEEP project. It can be
     displayed in all 7 languages.
   • News: On this page news about the project (for example, the announcement
of meetings, multiplier events, ...) as well as journalistic articles and
international news that fit the theme of the project are published. This page is
     only available in English.
   • Event Program: This page provides brief summaries of past events and also a
download option for the reports of the Intellectual Outputs. This page is only
     available in English.
   • Gallery: This page contains a selection of photos from past events.
   • Partners: The international partner organizations and their fields of activity
are described. Each partner page is available in english and the respective
     national language.
   • E-learning: Link to: sweep.eco/elearning. Unregistered users of the platform
can try a "Taster" with mini-games. It also contains the login for the learning
     platform.
   • Contacts: This page contains the english privacy policy and the contact email
     for the project.

The e-learning platform:

The interactive platform allows the learners to effectively gain knowledge in the
field of waste separation.
Moodle allows partners to create content such as forms / tests, games and
animated videos. The quality control is made possible by tests that check the current
status of the learners and indicate their understanding of the topic. Based on this
test, the partners gain insight into the benefits of their created content.
Furthermore, the platform allows the set-up of a so-called virtual classroom
environment. This part gives the learners the chance to interact with each other by
messages, competitions, exchange of their work, etc. This not only improves the
learning outcome, but also enhances the European dimension. It allows the
interaction of European citizens of different countries and gives them an European
perspective on the content they learn.

Tutorial
So that all project partners can work with the e-learning platform, even those who
have never worked with an online learning platform before, a guide/tutorial has
been created for navigating Moodle and creating courses on the platform. The "How
to" also includes instructions for creating simple, animated videos via the website
biteable.com.
The use of the learning platform is possible for further ideas. The project partners
and external parties can use the created Moodle platform for other Moodle
platforms with other content. The documentation/tutorial of the work steps ensures
that the partners can quickly get used to it again.

Taster - Mini Games
A taster was designed, which was tried by a part of the panel 50+. The feedback
from the testers was incorporated into the reworking of the taster. The Taster
included the Games: Click and Drop, and Who wants to be a millionaire.
This Taster is designed to arouse curiosity among potential course participants and
to provide a quick impression of the topic of the later modules.

The following content has been implemented on the platform and can be filled in
IO3 with content or used in a variation. If additional functions within the moodle
platform for the creation of the 3 modules and the courses contained therein are
necessary, these can of course still be inserted.

• Games
Click’n’Drop: Which garbage belongs to which bin? Drag the garbage and drop
  it into the correct bin!

• Who wants to be a millionaire?: Choose the correct answer out of 4
  possibilities!

• Social forum
The Forum activity can make a decisive contribution to the successful
communication and formation of a learning community in an online learning
environment. The two most common uses are instructional forums, moderated by
the trainer and the online counterpart to the "classic classroom talk" and learning
forums that help learners to exchange freely with each other.

   • Activity completion: track progess&report
Students can see their progress throughout a course. Activity completion reports are
also available for teachers, so they can check the progress of their students in a
course.

   • Blocks: Completion Progress
The Completion Progress block is a time-management tool for students.
It visually shows what activities/resources a student is supposed to interact with in a
course.
It is colour-coded so students can quickly see what they have and have not
completed/viewed.
The block shows activities with activity completion settings.
The intellectual output 2 is completed with the creation of a project website and an
e-learning platform containing the following functions:
Website
   • Project description
   • News about the project
   • Event Program with summaries of past events
   • Gallery with photos from past events.
   • Partner descriptions
   • E-learning login page
   • Contacts
E-Learning:
   • Guideline
   • Taster
   • Various functions – e.g. games, quizzes, forums, progress,…
