WATER
We started by making footwear for our
friends and pro kayakers. We needed a
single shoe that we could wear to work and
in class V whitewater on the same day.
Every day, all summer long.
They had to have the best grip and allow
the best balance. They had to dry quickly,
wash easily and sufficiently protect the foot
in rocky, rooty terrain.

G® RUBBER EXPLAINED
When we started making footwear in 2012, we had to use 5.10’s Stealth® rubber
compound in our outsoles. It was the best rubber for wet grip. When Adidas bought
them and ceased supplying it to other brands, we devoted ourselves to both
replacing and surpassing it.
After 2 years of extensive, on-the-ground R&D we were confident that our special
blend of 21 ingredients would set the new standard for grip on wet rocks.
What’s Special About It?
G® Rubber is made from a precise recipe of 21 special (almost magical,
definitely secret) ingredients. When mixed together and handled correctly,
they create a rubber outsole that conforms to the rock surface, does not
leave marks, and lasts longer than outsoles before it.

In 2016, we turned our focus to
designing shoes for the trail.
We designed and tested them
for steep whitewater gorges,
the Appalachian Trail in North
Carolina, and endurance races
in Idaho.
We started with our

engineered a unique sole

reduce foot fatigue.
The result is trail footwear

breathable hiking shoes.

National Geographic Adventurer. She’s hiked over
14,000 miles on six different continents. She held the
speed record on the Appalachian Trail (46 days, 11

This legendary vest was best-in-class 15 years ago and there was very little we could
do to improve it today. We simply increased the buoyancy by 20N, eliminated PVC foam,
and shifted the buoyancy slightly to make it a safer swimmer. Left untouched are the fit,
the function, and the clean design aesthetic.
