«After a disrupted year in 2020, punctuated with transformations such as Le Rendez-Vous
Bi@rritz turning 100% digital, and the creation of Les Screens, six thematic online markets
delivered via our Screenopsis platform, we decided to launch a new event to support the
work of our members in the documentary sector.
Continuing the strategy that began at Le Rendez-Vous Bi@rritz 2020 we have once again
adapted to the constraints of the current context and have never lost sight of our objective. That
is to offer a unique market which is, for the first time, completely dedicated to documentaries,
in a spirit of fun – even if we cannot be together in person.
We therefore decided to create a 100% documentary event.
This Rendez-Vous is supported by our main partners: the French National Centre for Cinema
and the Moving Image (Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée - CNC), The French
Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and the Procirep, the French society for TV and film

French audiovisual landscape, and recognized the world over for the quality and know-how
of the talented people that work in it. International sales of French documentaries saw an
historic leap of +44% between 2018 and 2019*, and the sector maintains significant growth
which we must support.

Le Rendez-Vous DOCS will feature three key spotlights as part of a rich and varied offer. market
There will be three Super Highlights presented by TV France members during filmed sessions
in live conditions at Le Shack, a new space near the Opera House in central Paris (Opéra Garnier)
and moderated by the journalist Marjorie Paillon. There will also be 18 project pitching Hervé Michel
