Welcome
Mendip Times is an independently owned and produced,
full colour, a4 monthly glossy magazine, available free
from over 900 outlets across the wide-ranging and
nationally famed Mendip Hills area of Somerset – home
                                        to approximately 180,000 people.

No other magazine focuses so closely on this very
distinct and historic area, renowned for its natural
beauty, recognised for its largely affluent population and
coveted by advertisers – as much for the spending power
of its residents as the magnet status of the Mendip area,
                                        a major Uk tourist destination.

Mendip Times Online has free links from our website to
all advertisers, as well as from news and features pages.

a leaflet insert service within the magazine is available.
The whole magazine is available on the internet at
                                        www.mendiptimes.co.uk attracting thousands of readers
                                        worldwide.

circulation and readership
With a high quality print run of 23,500 copies per issue – and rising – Mendip Times, with its
month long shelf life, was launched in June 2005 and reaches an estimated 100,000 people each
                 month.

distribution of Mendip Times is through more than 900 outlets spread across the post code areas
of Ba 2/3/4/5/6/11/16 and BS 14/25/26/27/28/29/39/40/41. Stockists range from superstores to
village stores and post offices, farm shops, supermarkets, garden centres, pubs, inns,
hotels and restaurants, doctors’ surgeries, libraries and tourist information centres.

a socio-demographic analysis, drawn from the Office of National Statistics, places our readership
fairly and squarely in the aBc1 bracket – acORN® profiling suggests the majority are wealthy
                 achievers or comfortably off.

Readership is supplemented by visitors to the area – regular day trippers from neighbouring towns
and counties as well as long stay tourists from much further afield.

We can neither quantify or qualify our visiting readership but existing advertisers are confident
they reach them, drawing in business-boosting passing and repeat trade through the glossy pages
of Mendip Times magazine, as stocked in hot-spot visitor venues, from cafes, pubs, hotels and
restaurants to key shops and tourist information centres across our area.
