New developments in
cosmetics and tattoo ink
Dear customer,
Through our further development in the field of the chemical-physical and
microbiological analysis of cosmetic products and trough entering of the
completely new thematic field tattoo ink, we are pleased to present you our
extended, accredited proficiency testing schemes in this field of testing.
In the field of the chemical-physical analysis of cosmetics we offer you for your
external quality assurance the already established proficiency testing schemes:
shampoo, lotion: chem. parameters (fat, viscosity, density, pH value, dry
residue, water content, ash and urea) (August 2015)
cream, lotion: vitamins (dexpanthenol, tocopherolacetat, retinolpalmitate)
(September 2015)
dental care: fluoride content (October 2015)
care products (qual., quant.): preservatives (methyl-, ethyl, propyl-,
butylparaben, 2-phenoxyethanol, benzoic acid, sorbic acid, formaldehyde,
methylisothiazolinone) (October 2015)
Due to the high number of customer requests we extend our proficiency testing
program in the field of cosmetics and tattoo inks:
metals in cosmetics: aluminium, copper, zinc (June 2015)
quant. determination of UV filters: EHS; BMDM; EHT; PBSA; OC;
titanium dioxide (June 2015)
PAH in decorative cosmetics (qual., quant.): naphthalene, anthracene,
benzo(a)anthracene, chrysene, benzo(b)fluoranthen, benzo(k)fluoranthen,
benzo(j)fluoranthen, benzo(e)pyren, benzo(a)pyren, dibenz(ah)anthracene
(August 2015)
preservatives in tattoo ink: benziothiazolinone (BIT) (June 2015)
aromatic amins in tattoo ink: aniline, o-Anisidine,2-naphthylamine, o-
toluidine, 2,4-toluylendiamine (August 2015)
In the field of microbiological analysis of cosmetic products we offer for your
external quality assurance the following already established proficiency testing
schemes:
aerobic total count in O/W-emulsion quantitative (October 2015)
moulds in O/W-emulsion quantitative (October 2015)
identification of germs in O/W-emulsion (October 2015)
challenge test (April 2015)
And in 2015 the following new proficiency testing schemes for qualitative
analysis of specific microorganisms which are very important during the
challenge test and for the safety of cosmetic product in general:New developments in

Staphylococcus aureus in O/W-emulsion qualitative (October 2015)
Escherichia coli in O/W-emulsion qualitative (October 2015)
Candida albicans in O/W-emulsion qualitative (November 2015)
Pseudomonas aeruginosa in O/W-emulsion qualitative (November
2015)
Through our effort to continuing develop new proficiency testing schemes we
enter a further completely new thematic field tattoo ink starting with the
following PT scheme:
Aerobic total count in tattoo ink quantitative (December 2015)
Furthermore we are very successful in running PT schemes in foil packaging
concerning the quantitative determination of surface bacteria count since few
years and we want to extend our PT schemes for further packaging materials:
moulds on foil packaging quantitative (September 2015)
aerobic total count on foil packaging quantitative (October 2015)
spore-forming bacteria on board (September 2015)
This program completes our extensive proficiency testing program in the scope of
Cosmetics and tattoo ink.
