About Us
              The South African Energy Crisis is an ongoing
              saga that first surfaced in late 2007. Residents and
              businesses alike started to experience widespread
              rolling blackouts as supply fell behind demand,
              threatening to destabilize the national grid. In 2009,
              our parent company, at the time participated in
              numerous Eskom IDM projects that helped reduce
              the demand from the national grid, through the
              installation of energy efficient products particularly
              focusing on lighting solutions.

              The current escalation of our energy crisis has

Value Added Benefits
Swop Out Warranty – Product Replacement
In addition to any product damage, and/or risk associated with the use and operation of the solution, all products are
commissioned in accordance with the highest international standards applied in the industry. All products are covered
by a manufacturers swop out warranty that is applicable for the first 60 months of the operation. The additional
warranty is also available for a further two years, should our customers require.
The warranty is to a great extent, unconditional and our customers are educated and informed at the onset with the
terms and conditions applicable to this warranty.

Emergency Response Services
Our intention is to provide a seamless journey to our customers and if this journey is impacted in any way, a specialised
team of experts, that is managed directly by our Executive team, is trained to respond accordingly.

The emergency response service is available to every customer and the management of this service is structured and
communicated to our customers every step of the way.

Core to our values and commitment is Customer Satisfaction.

Repairs And Maintenance
It is extremely important that our customers understand our commitment to service and support. The solution will be
maintained and supported throughout its useful life and our support teams will schedule and manage this co-ordinated
service schedule with our customers.

•    Call outs will be done every 90 days and will be co-ordinated and scheduled with the customer
•    Labour costs and travel costs within the contract period will be free of charge to our customers
•    Maintenance will be provided by a team of qualified trained professionals
•    Maintenance will include a complete assessment of the solution, the use of the solution and the state of the
     electrical installation
•    Emergency support professionals are also available for those unexpected emergencies because we know that
     they do occur. This is for that “just-in-case” time when you have an emergency
•    An extended warranty option is available

This is a value added benefit that delivers more than any conventional insurance cover, and provides our customers

Smart Inverter Technology
•    The term “smart inverter” has become a buzzword in the industry, but what does it
     really mean? For an inverter to be considered smart, it must have a digital architecture,
     bidirectional communications capability and robust software infrastructure
•    The system begins with reliable, rugged and efficient silicon-centric hardware, which
     can be controlled by a scalable software platform incorporating a sophisticated
     performance monitoring capability
•    A smart inverter must be adaptive and able to send and receive messages quickly,
     as well as share granular data with the owner, utility and other stakeholders. Such
     systems allow installers and service technicians to diagnose operational and
     maintenance issues including predicting possible inverter or module problems and
     remotely upgrade certain parameters in moments of time
•    These intelligent-power-electronics devices must also include stout application-
     programming-interface (API) functionality that provides fleet owners and other partners
     a way to tie in their own software to create powerful enterprise-level tools
•    An API is a set of programming instructions for accessing web software or a web-
     based tool. When a company releases its API, users are able to have their own
     software interact with the company

                              Longer Life Batteries - Lead Acid
                              •   The life of a lithium or lead-acid battery is expressed in number of cycles the battery
                                  can sustain in the function of applied depth of discharge. A cycle is defined as a
                                  charge and a complete discharge of the battery. Depending on the type of battery, the
                                  storage lifespan can vary greatly
                              •   These batteries have the advantage of being less expensive than lithium batteries
                              •   The disadvantages are related to the service life which varies between 400 and 800
                                  cycles at 50% DOD for gel or AGM batteries and between 1000 and 2000 cycles at
                                  50% DOD for OPZV or OPZS batteries (under standard test conditions )
                              •   In addition, the number of cycles drops rapidly if the batteries are used at discharge
                                  levels above 50%. It is important to check the “cycle / DOD” curves provided by
                                  the battery manufacturers to ensure that the inverter is set correctly. As with lithium
                                  batteries, lead-acid batteries must be installed in rooms protected from heat and
                                  properly ventilated. The charging and discharging currents must not exceed, in
                                  general, 10 to 20% of the storage capacity, because this can cause an extremely
                                  dangerous environment for the batteries and the occupants of the environment where
                                  the batteries are stored

Even Longer Life Batteries - Lithium Ion
•    In recent years, the lithium battery is more and more suitable for solar and self-use
     consumption applications. This is mainly due to a significant drop in prices, and the
     long service life associated with a high quality lithium ion battery. The substantial
     energy density and a much better yield when compared to lead batteries, has often
     made these battery types, the product of choice because the average lifespans ranges
     from 3000 to 6000 cycles at 80% DOD
•    If the solar self-use consumption system has been properly scaled, one cycle must
     correspond to one day of operation; daytime charge with excess solar power and
     discharge during the evening and night during the peak consumption use period
•    If the solar solution is correctly specified and installed, the life expectancy of the
     lithium ion batteries used for the storage of power will vary between 10 and 16 years

Systems
•   Residential diesel generators feature internal combustion engines
    that run on diesel fuel. They are also safer because diesel fuel is less
    flammable than other fuel types for generators and the diesel engines
    are far more robust and sturdy when compared to other power generator
    engines
•   Majority of the residential diesel generators come in the form of both
    portable and more permanent home standby generators to power your
    home and these are available to the consumer market through an ever
    increasing variation of sales channels
•   The key deterrent again is the price thresholds for a good quality unit and
    then comes the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of these units. The
    overall cost of ownership associated with a diesel powered generator in
    South Africa is similar to that of an 1100CC motorbike and/or motorcar
    with a similar engine size

    •    The capital outlay is extremely high
    •    The installation cost is an additional requirement
    •    The warranty is limited and is only for a period of 12 months
    •    The running cost of a diesel generator as a power supply is almost
         4 times higher when compared to current local utility costs of power
    •    The operation of the generator is restricted to trained qualified
         professionals
    •    The end user basically only powers the generator on or off, if not
         automated

•   Our company provides a world class Tier One diesel powered generator
    that is low noise and specific to the needs of the customer as a back-up

                             Tier 1 Solar Panels
                             •   What is a Tier 1 solar panel?
                                  The Tier 1 ranking scale is orchestrated by Bloomberg New Energy Finance Corporation
                                  and is used to rank solar panel manufacturers in terms of their bankability or financial
                                  stability
                             •   A Tier 1 solar panel is a high quality panel that is designed to produce power for as
                                 long as the expected lifespan which is approximately 25 years
                             •   As per the Bloomberg criteria, only solar panel manufacturers that own their own
                                 manufacturing facility can be included for review. This ensures that all the manufacturers
                                 of Tier 1 Solar Panels provide their customers with an unconditional swop out warranty
                                 on the product, given their certainty about the quality and durability of the product

                             Our company goes a few steps further in this regard;

                                  •   We provide our customers with a Tier 1 Solar Panel Solution
                                  •   All equipment supplied carries an unconditional swop out warranty for the entire
                                      contractual period
                                  •   All equipment will be serviced and maintained for the full duration of the contract

Remote Energy Management
•    In order to ensure that our customers enjoy a solution that is interruption free and
     “ALWAYS ON” ™, our company has employed the world’s leading technology to
     enable the complete remote management and control of the system
•    In order for the customer to remotely manage and control the system, a data
     connectivity switch and internet connection must be available and operational. In the
     event that our customers require this, we will provide it
•    In the event that the solar / sunshine requirement is not at the levels planned for,
     the system has the ability to switch over to the second alternative power solution
     automatically. This is made possible through the automatic change over switch that is
     installed into the customer’s premises

                             Automatic Change Over Switches
                             •   When the “ALWAYS ON” ™ power is interrupted, the automatic transfer switch
                                 immediately senses the problem and signals the generator to start. Once the
                                 generator is running at proper speed, the automatic transfer switch safely shuts off
                                 the alternative power supply line and simultaneously opens the generator power line
                                 from the generator

                             •   The automatic changeover switch will notify the customer that the power supply has
                                 shifted to the back up power and will send a notification to the support centre of
                                 Power4Less ™ to deploy a technical team to assess and correct the problem that has
                                 caused the “ALWAYS ON” ™ power to shift from primary supply to back up power
                                 supply

Remote Interface Controls
•    The Remote Management provides the customer with full access to
     the controls and settings of all system-components. It allows remote
     user and installer login - from anywhere, at anytime
•    This powerful application also provides for hassle-free diagnostic
     checks and analysis of archived information. The Remote Management
     interface lies at the heart of the system, providing monitoring and
     operating as the communication centre of the solution
•    All power system components, such as inverters/chargers, solar
     chargers, and batteries are connected to this interface so that the
     monitoring of the solution can be carried out locally and remotely

•   In today’s age of technology where smartphones and tablets have applications for everything from banking to
    entertainment, Power4Less ™ offers our customer the ability to monitor and control the energy usage and carbon

Support Call Logging Procedure
•    Once a call is logged by a customer, a reference number is generated and

     commence. In the event that the call cannot be resolved telephonically, a
