• Business to Business exchanges where large quantities of goods are sold at deep
discounts. Hundreds of B2B platforms exist and are mostly based in the Far East,
India and Russia
• The most popular examples include: Alibaba.com, DHGate.com, TradeTang

iThe scale of the counterfeit problem
• The number of seizures increased by 34% in 2010 to 19,959 from 14,841 in 2009
• The number of seizures in Express Consignment / Mail facilities increased by 42%
due to:
– Continued growth of websites selling counterfeit/pirate merchandise
– Consumers seeking lower priced goods due to economic downturn
• Footwear Consumer Electronics and Apparel were the top 3 commodities seized
