directions is key to success in many aspects of our lives here in Sun
City Grand in the Valley of the Sun. Many of us are guilty of
“driving while looking in the rearview mirror.” But as Yogi would
say: “If we don’t know where we are going, we may never get
there!” This course will be about assisting participants to develop
better skills in thinking about future directions and possibilities and
developing action plans to improve their ability to realize their
desired futures. This year there will be a considerable emphasis on
planning for the future in our community, so this workshop is very
timely. This workshop will be in three sessions – Session I –
General Concepts: The importance of being able to think effectively
about the future and several techniques for thinking in future tense,
including visioning, scenario building, life designs and paradigm
shifts. Session II – Applying thinking about the future to issues
important to our lives in the Valley of the Sun, including the
sustainability of our water resources and the future of our Sun City
