A featured addition to St. Andrews life is an expanded athletic program for our juniors. In addition
to our excellent Golf, Tennis and Swimming programs, we are adding a weekly supervised Membership Services 18
schedule for fitness, soccer, basketball and other field sports and games at our Field. The program
will be supervised by Julio Fuentes, Recreation & Aquatics Manager, who was previously an

On the business front all is good and our St. Andrews financial position remains strong. As of this Layout & Design by EG Communications Group

Consolidation of Club & POA
Board of Governors
Regarding our plan for the Club & POA consolidation, the Club continues forward and plans to call
Steve Irwin, President
a membership meeting later this fall to discuss the plan in detail. Unfortunately as of this date and
after five months since the Club first requested a meeting with them, we have still not heard from Larry Altschul, Executive Vice President
the POA leadership other than to say they are not ready for a meeting with the Club. In its last Ron Gallatin, Executive Vice President,
communiqué to the membership, the POA imposed a deadline on itself for such a meeting- that Treasurer
deadline passed about a month ago.
Ed Rice, Executive Vice President
Let’s all enjoy and Healthy and Happy season.

FROM THE Assistant General Manager
As the weather begins to cool down activities at St. Andrews begin to heat up. We are excited to be reaching
the completion of the CIP Phase III project with the opening of the newly renovated Fitness and Tennis
building in late November. The Pickleball courts and tennis stadium seating are completed and we are
looking forward to presenting the membership with the newly renovated Bagel Room and the courtside
veranda seating area.
A new and exciting addition to our family programing is a kid’s weekly sports activity which will begin
Thursday, November 15 and be held every Thursday throughout the season. A different sports activity will be
played each week. Please contact Julio Fuentes, our Recreation & Aquatics Manager at jfuentes@
Rick Dente standrewscc.com or 561-470-6580 x303 or simply stop by the pool for further details.
Assistant General Manager

Our interns are excited for their opportunity to be working at St. Andrews and look forward to meeting and taking care our members.
November and December are filled with exciting events. Come join us in kicking off the season in true St. Andrews Style at our Fall
Social event on November 10. Also, do not forget to make a reservation for Thanksgiving Dinner. It is always a special day at the club for
our members and their families. December will be filled with variety of events especially during the holidays.
I want to thank all our managers and staff for their time and dedication to St. Andrews and I look forward to a wonderful season ahead
with this talented and committed team. To our year round members, thank you for spending your summer with us and to our

The Club has been working to make the switch to more eco-friendly options for take-out containers and straws.
We recently switched all our take-out containers to a biodegradable and eco-friendly product and introduced
paper straws instead of plastic straws. A growing number of restaurants, hotels and clubs are skipping the
traditional sipper in favor of more sustainable options, all working towards the same goal: reduce the number
Federica Davis of plastic straws used by consumers across the world.
Director of Club
Operations Our culinary program has dedicated itself to improve on all we do and ensure that food
purchases are made with the health of our members in mind. All our meat, seafood and
produce products are sourced from sustainable vendors and we purchase from those who can meet our stringent
guidelines. A hamburger may be considered an indulgent item and high in calories, but it is important to us that
the beef is high quality, from sustainable growers and prepared properly; the lobsters for Lobster Night are
shipped from Maine to our supplier in Florida and received the same day; our soups and sauces are made from
stocks and broths that are simmering fresh daily. We work with various local sustainable farmers to purchase produce that is delivered
daily, and items that are in season.
When all restaurants are open, we feature over 150 menu items daily — and that does not include the many banquets or special events.
The Gallery Lunch buffet is unlike any other in Palm Beach County.
Every week this summer we cooked, developed and took pictures of new concepts to have ready by the fall prior to the launching of our
new menus. Some of the new dishes we featured during the summer months (Spaghetti Squash with Chicken Meatball, Salmon
Tartare, Tuna Poke Bowl, and Cauliflower Pizza) became top sellers and will remain on the menus. Of course, staples such as Honey
Garlic Lobster, Swordfish, Branzino, and Homemade Pasta will be always available.
We have many creative and original things planned for the months ahead. Lakeside will continue as a smart, casual venue, with
traditional comfort food favorites along with great salads and “healthy craft cousin,” hand-helds and small bite sharing plates.
Café Blue will remain a great poolside casual venue for a variety of salads, burgers and other specialties.
Finally, the new Gallery dinner menu will offer upscale American and Mediterranean Cuisine, featuring the best in farm-raised prime
beef and seafood. Sunday night grill outs in the Gallery and the well-received Monday family night dinner buffet will continue.
We are purchasing small production wines to entice your palate and create the perfect pairing with Chef’s superb menu and the
unbeatable Gallery service. We hate to keep things bottled up, so this season we are introducing “The Coravin,” high-end wine-by-the
glass program, and we are planning on pouring many of the favorites! Please join us this coming season for exceptional wine and good
cheer!
A few more surprises await, and our promise to do what we do with passion and care, giving you the best food and dining experience
possible.
We are looking forward to the upcoming Thanksgiving Holidays. We want to encourage everyone to get their reservations in as soon as
possible. Please remember to view the dress codes for these events in your social calendar, and remind any guests that you are inviting.
If you don’t plan on joining us for these Holidays, please stop by and pick up a Take-Out Order form at the Front Desk or online under
the “Dining” section. It would be our pleasure to help you with the cooking for these special days.
We look forward to greeting you at our first social event “Adventures in Wonderland” on November 10. Management and staff are
prepared to make sure your experience will be as enjoyable and memorable as ever.
See you around the Club,

family as your new Director of Course & Grounds. This magnificent club has the reputation of being the best
of the best and I look forward to leading the Agronomy team in adhering to these standards.
The team has had a very busy and productive summer with the normal South Florida cultural practices
coupled with many projects that were completed to advance the golf experience on our beautiful golf courses.
Currently we are gearing up for season with all the normal enhancements for aesthetics to the property such
as annual flowers, fresh mulch, and new bunker sand. We expect to be completed before season starts.

The season is in full SWING and we will soon be enjoying SAWGA Fall Luncheon and Golf
Tournament on November 13, 2018. Please put it on your calendar, sign up in the Pro Shop and join
us for a fun filled day planned by Alice Glassman and Liz Maschler. The theme of the event is
“Grease Lightning,” with colors of Pink and Black. Can you believe it’s 50 years? The day will start at 8:45 a.m. with a sit
out scramble and lunch to follow. It is a great way to see familiar and new faces!
Tuesday Tournaments are enjoying a better participation; both 18 holers and 9 holers. We welcome ALL! Please
continue to post ALL scores. Current handicaps are a must to play in our SAWGA tournaments. Any questions? contact
Maddy Seeman or our golf pros. They will be happy to help you.
The SAWGA Invitational chaired by Patti Abrams is on for Thursday, November 29, 2018, with four clubs participating
at St. Andrews...Delaire Country Club, Woodfield, the Polo Club and us. You must have a current USGA handicap of 30
or less. Sign up will be from November 1-21 and there will be a blind draw for 20 spots and 4 alternates. It is a good way
to meet and play golf with some of our neighbors.
SAWGA is proud to support The First Tee in Palm Beach county. It is a junior golf program open to the public. Our
tournament is on November 20 where a $10 donation to the First Tee can buy you mulligans to use during your round.
Also, during October & November used clubs, bags, shoes and other golf equipment will be collected at the starters
booth and cart barn to be donated to the organization starting ... your generosity and participation is appreciated.
Enjoy the new season and have fun, practice hard and get lucky!
