Switzerland2291 - 1000 years Switzerland
How will we live? What drives us? What do we want, what not? The book Schweiz2291 (german
edition) was published in October 2018: 70 fascinating Swiss personalities between 35 and 92 years
describe Switzerland at its 1,000th birthday. Switzerland2291 allows for free thoughts and connects
generations in a refreshing future dialogue. The idea for Switzerland2291 originates from a visit to
Hawaii: The old Hawaiians had the ambition to consider the impact of their decisions on the next
seven generations. And: Generation 7 is the young team that will release the second edition of the
book Schweiz2291 in 50 years or 2068 - we walk the talk.

Switzerland2291 – the idea
In exactly 272 years, the 1000th anniversary of Switzerland takes place. 1291 to 2291. How will we
live? What drives us? What progress do we want? What is not wanted?

Switzerland2291 refreshes the dialogue on the future with a trilogy: the book, the Swiss-wide on tour
event series and the short film competition encourage reflection, and cause grinning and lively
discussions. Acquaintances arise among strangers, old and new friends meet.

This is the idea and our vision: to co-create the stable ground ensuring that Switzerland's 1000 year
celebration in 2291 will be a lavish, happy and inspiring celebration. And because people from Berne
are known to be slow, we are already starting the preparations today.

The book Schweiz2291 was published in October 2018, with stories by 70 fascinating Swiss
personalities. Switzerland2291 on tour was successfully launched on March 8, 2019 at Gstaad Palace.

Vision: second edition of the book Switzerland2291 in 2068
Every 50 years the book Switzerland2291 will be repeated. This allows to realize an anthology of
documented inter-generational talks about the future until the year 2291 - as an absolutely unique
present for the 1000th anniversary. Ten young people (Generation 7) have already shared a common
history with Volume I and will be the editors of Volume II of the book Switzerland2291 in 2068.

Switzerland2291 – the authors
70 Swiss personalities describe Switzerland after 1000 years and send us on a fascinating journey into
