TYLDESLEYImportant Info! How much does a bus pass cost? The cost the bus pass for the full academic year is £375, or a Semester pass is £200*. If you live within the Leyland Zone the cost of the pass is £175 (details on page 4). 16-19 Bursary Fund If you need help with the cost of your bus pass, the 16-19 Bursary Fund may be able to support you. All students can apply, but we will prioritise students who are most in need. Can I pay daily on the college bus? Travel ID cards are not compulsory, but College sees bus travel as the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly method of transport for most students. Due to the COVID19 outbreak we were unable to accept daily payments for the bus services during the 2020/21 academic year. Unfortunately, as the situation continues to be uncertain, we are unable to confirm if we will be reintroducing this option – further details will be communicated in due course. What do I do if there is a problem with my bus service in the morning? Remain at your stop and call our dedicated transport team on 01772 642020 option 1. Our team are available from 7.30am each day and will resolve any issues. Who do I contact about lost property? All lost property enquiries should be made direct to the operator. What if I forget my bus pass? You can use your Emergency Bus Pass facility on the student portal (details on page 28). Buses will stop only when hailed clearly to do so. We reserve the right to change the route, timing and service number of the buses to meet with timing and loading requirements.

Terms & Conditions
Travel ID
• Valid for one return journey, Monday to Friday, during term time, on named service only.
• Not valid for use on any public transport services.
• Valid Travel ID cards must be shown for all journeys made
• Lost Travel ID’s must be replaced, and cost £5 from the Programme Office.
• Travel ID cards will be confiscated and withdrawn if used by another student, misused or
mutilated.
• Runshaw reserves the right to move students to an alternate service to comply with loading &
safety requirements. Students failing to cooperate will be referred to the Programme Office.
Student Behaviour
• Students must adhere to the ABCDE policy when using the college bus.
• No smoking or use of e-cigarettes on any college bus
• No loud music to be played; personal headphones to be used
• Students must be respectful and cooperate with bus drivers and bus marshals at all times.
• Students are expected to behave in an orderly and responsible manner at all times; all
relevant statutes will apply.
• To ensure safety, students must wait in an orderly manner on the pavement for their bus and
must clearly put their hand out to signal the driver.
• Students on coaches and buses that travel on the motorway are responsible for wearing the
seat belt provided.
• Runshaw reserves the right to restrict or ban any student who does not comply with these
terms and conditions.
Refunds
• Only students who leave their studies are eligible for refund on their pass. Refunds are
applied on a pro-rata basis once we are in receipt of the pass.
• Lost passes cannot be refunded.
• Annual Bus Pass holders who leave after the Easter break do not qualify for a refund.
Semester 1 Bus Pass holders do not qualify for a refund after the Christmas break and
Semester 2 Bus Pass holders do not qualify after the May half term. Leyland Zone passes are
not eligible for a refund after the Christmas break.
• Students who decide to drive are not eligible for refund.
In the event of a college closure for 5 or more consecutive College days, a full pro-rata refund
will be issued to all bus pass holders for the closure period.
In the event of a substantial and sustained on-campus timetable change for blended learning,
a bus pass rebate equivalent to £4.40 per week will be made to eligible bus pass holders in
accordance with the following criteria:
• The learner must have purchased and paid in full for an annual (£375) or relevant semester
(£200) bus pass. Leyland zone and bursary funded bus pass holders are not eligible for the
rebate.
• The learner’s confirmed timetable for the eligible period includes a total of 1 day per
week, or less, of on-campus activities.
• Eligible periods refer to each full half term only. Rebates will not be payable for partial half
term periods.
• Rebates will be automatically paid each half term directly to students RunshawPay
accounts.

Connecting Services
• College accepts no responsibility for students using other services in order to
access Runshaw College Transport.
Social Distancing (if applicable)
Students are responsible for maintaining social distancing where possible and will be
required to wear a face mask while on board as per county council recommendations.
Students who attempt to board the vehicle without a face mask will be refused travel.
To reduce passenger contact, students will be required to board the bus rear to front
and should queue for the bus in a social distancing manner. Runshaw appreciates
the full cooperation of all students to manage the risk of COVID-19 and takes no
responsibility for contraction of the virus.

Runshaw College values the rights and privacy of all staff, students, parents/guardians,
volunteers, contractors, suppliers, consultants and visitors who are directly affected by

Login to the student portal using your smartphone
Select the ‘Transport’ option and then ‘Emergency Bus Pass’
Remember this pass is only to be used if you forget your College
Membership card on your journey to college. You must collect a
temporary sticker as soon as you arrive on site to show for the
journey home.

How to Pay for a College Bus Pass
You can purchase a Yearly Pass for £375
or a Semester Pass for £200*.
Payment can be made by the following methods:
• Credit or Debit Card
• Bursary (a Bursary application form must be completed,
along with the bus pass application)
• NoW Card (we will need to take a copy for our records)
* £200 for September – January semester and £200 for
February – July semester = £400 annual cost
