All competitors must be members of The Pony Club. Ages as at 1st January 2021.
Anyone who has not reached their 8th birthday by the date of the competition (4.8.2021)
may only compete in Classes 1 and 2

PRIZES
Rosettes to 6th Place in ALL classes
Rosettes for best Shoot/Bean Bag Throw, Swim & Run in all Tetrathlon classes

There will be no prize giving & rosettes will be posted
TETRATHLON/TRIATHLON RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
The Official Steward’s decision is final.

Rules are in accordance with the Pony Club Tetrathlon Rule Book 2021, a copy of
which can be downloaded from www.pcuk.org and amended to local conditions.

SHOOTING
Subject to COVID regulations, this event we request that ALL SHOOTERS wear
face coverings until they are at their shoot station. ALL LOADERS must wear face
coverings at all

Protective or prescription glasses are recommended at all levels of competition
and are COMPULSORY for competitors shooting at 7m so please make sure you
have them with you.

Your targets will be waiting for you on the range. Please confirm to the steward that they
are correctly named. Our stewards will put targets up & down.

The Shoot Steward has the right to check any gun to make sure it complies with PC
regulations.

Guns must be kept in their cases until the Firing Point Steward gives the order to
“unbox” them at the start of a detail, and must be “boxed” again before the competitor
leaves the firing point. At all other times guns must be stored in their boxes and locked
in a secure place (i.e.in a locked vehicle out of sight).

No person under 18 years of age may be responsible for or carry a gun.

Substantial shoes (that do not reach the anklebone but which cover the whole foot –
e.g. trainers) and long trousers must be worn for the Shoot.

Once scored, all targets will be placed in envelopes to be collected and checked by your
allocated Pony Club Team Manager from The Information Point Each competing Pony
Club will have one envelope only per Club so please nominate a Team Manager for
your club.

BEAN BAG THROWING
There will be hand sanitising stations at the Bean Bag throwing. Please can every
competitor hand sanitise before handling the Bean Bags at the Hand sanitising stations.
The Stewards will be responsible for collecting and disinfecting the Bean Bags.
All parents/helpers must wear face coverings please.
SWIMMING
Members must arrive ready to take part in the Swim at their allotted time and return to
their trailer / lorry to change.

Only one adult per competitor allowed poolside.

No Spectators allowed to attend.

Due to the depth of the pool, no diving or tumble turns are allowed

RUNNING
Running will take place at one minute intervals.

Please print your own running number at home

Please observe social distancing at all times

RIDING:
The competition will be run in accordance with the Pony Club rules for Tetrathlon 2021.

Competitors who have 3 refusals may miss out the fence and continue on the
course provided the Fence Judges consider them safe to do so. They must make
no more than two attempts at any subsequent fence.

Competitors in Classes above 3 may ride at the height of the class below but will
incur 500 penalties. This must be declared on the entry form.
N.B. There will be a number of ‘L’ fences

Beanie competitors will be in an enclosed Arena and may be led/assisted but will
incur 400 penalties.

Riding hats must be tagged with a current Pony Club (Aquamarine), BE or BRC tag
and must comply with the standards laid down in the 2021 Rule Book. No fixed peaks.
If your hat needs to be tagged please take it when dismounted to the Collecting Ring
Steward.

Body Protectors must be worn for XC and must adhere to 2021 rules. Air Jackets may
only be used in addition to a body protector meeting the standard specified above.

All competitors must provide their own number bib and print their OWN ride numbers
(3 x A4) at home. Two to put in their number bib and one to display in their vehicle
windscreen.
EI VACCINATIONS:-
All horses/ponies are to be fully and correctly vaccinated with, as a minimum,
their First and Second Primary Equine Influenza Vaccinations and, where
appropriate, their first booster. Thereafter their annual booster must have been
administered by the correct date. If you are unsure whether your vaccinations
comply, check with your vet. Passports will be randomly checked – non-
compliance will mean no participation and no refund.

SCORING & OBJECTIONS:
There will be no scores displayed on site. All scores will be posted on the E&SPC
website ASAP after the competition.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health and
Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all
reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the
instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.

See Covid guidelines on following pages.

LEGAL LIABILITY
Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or
anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The
Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord
or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to
horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any
other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence breach of
contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

No horses or ponies must be left unaccompanied at any time.

Horseboxes with gas cookers/rings must be used with caution, entirely at the owner’s
risk.
No person may sit on, or climb, any jump or fence.

Entry to the competition is dependent upon and deemed as acceptance of these rules

ADDITIONAL RULES WITH REGARD TO COVID 19

These conditions are subject to change with the developing guidelines and as such we reserve
the right to amend any of the rules. An up to date copy will be sent out with event times.

Please ensure you are familiar with the latest rules prior to coming to the event. Anyone
vulnerable or displaying any Covid 19 symptoms must not attend.

Everyone on site must adhere to Government guidance on social distancing. You must obey the
instructions of our stewards without hesitation. Non compliance will be reported to the
organiser and may result in you being asked to leave the showground, forfeiting your entry.

It is essential that all guidelines on social distancing, restrictions on numbers in any one area are
strictly adhered to.

Entries to be made online / before the day.

Ride & Run Numbers to be printed off by entrant at home and brought on the day.

Your shoot targets will be waiting for you on the range. You will asked to confirm to the
Steward that they are correctly named. They will only be handled by the officials on the range.

We must minimise people on site. Please bring a maximum of 4 people per competitor. No
spectators.

Competitors to complete their phases and leave as quickly as possible. Please do not
congregate in the swim shoot area.

Please adhere strictly to the timetable which will be devised to keep small groups moving as a
bubble around the phases. If you miss your time, we are unlikely to be able to fit you in later.

Please comply to rules and signage. Lorry/trailer parking: 5m - 10m between lorries.

XC warm up. Times will be allocated for warm up & start times. There will be a ‘flat warm up
area’ without jumps followed by a final Warm up area (with jumps). Other than the official
steward, nobody else is permitted in warm up area’s and the Steward will have control of max
numbers in area’s.

Hand sanitising points will be provided and these should be used regularly.
Each family must also bring their own hand sanitiser and use it regularly. They should also bring
their own PPE (face coverings, gloves etc) for use in the event that social distancing is not
possible.

Competitors MUST wear gloves for the ride phase due to the slip rail obstacles. These will be
spray disinfected between each competitor.
