                                                                        Bike Donation Event!!!
                                                                           The Waunakee Village Center is partnering
                                                                        with Dreambikes, Waunakee
                                                                        Police Department and
                                                                        Waunakee Neighborhood
                                                                        Connection to offer a free
                                                                        community bike rodeo and
                                                                        donation event!!!
                                                                           The Bike Rodeo is
                                                                        designed to promote safe
                                                                        riding habits and skills for
                                                                        younger riders. Participants
                                                                        are typically elementary to intermediate school age (5-12).
                                                                        Participants will ride their bike through a series of courses that help
                                                                        them to develop skills to avoid typical crashes as well as learning
                                                                        to watch their surroundings for traffic, other riders, road hazards
                                                                        etc.
                                                                           All participants are given a checklist and if completed they
                                                                        enter a drawing and win a prize! Prizes bought and paid for by
                                                                        the Waunakee Police Department. Prizes include: Helmets, locks,
                                                                        lights and other bike related items. The Bike Rodeo is a great
                                                                        way for officers to interact in a positive way with the youth of our
                                                                        community.
                                                                           DreamBike’s trained staff will be available to inspect all of the
                                                                        bikes and offer simple fixes on site. Bicycle crashes can happen
                                                                        for many reasons and improper bike maintenance is one of those
                                                                        reasons. Simple things like a loose chain, tire and brake cable
                                                                        or even non-functioning brakes can be a major cause of a crash.
                                                                        These crashes can be prevented through simple maintenance.
                                                                           DreamBikes will also be collecting gently used bikes. These

also host their Training Team Program this season at Centennial

Chalk Walk -
August 18, 2021
   This creative, colorful, crazy day is coming
to Village Park on Wednesday, August 18,
2021. For more information and to register,

SIDEWALK ART
    Calling all artists! Join us 2:00-5:00 pm as we create a mural of
sidewalk chalk art along the Village Park Drive. Artists of all ages and
abilities are encouraged to register for a square along our mural path.
A set of pastel chalks will be provided for each square. Pre-registration
is required. Not an artist? Come down to the park any time after 5:30
pm to walk the path and view the artist’s creations before you take part
in the color walk and dance party!

COLOR WALK
   Have you heard of a Color Run? How about giving a Color
Walk a try? This one-mile walk will be the most colorful and fun
walk you have ever been on. As you walk the Village Park route
you will be showered in powdered dye – turning you into a
technicolor canvas of fun! The walk will begin at 6:00 pm rain or
shine. Pre-registration will be required and includes a walk t-shirt.

   Chalk Talk - Learn the Art of
   Sidewalk Chalk
      Chalk Walk Waunakee is just around the corner! Take
   this hands on workshop and learn how to create an awe-
   inspiring work of art. A true artist will share information on
   composition and the natural angle of viewing street art.
   They will show you the grid drawing method to enlarge
   your original image and offer great tips on the supplies
   and materials you will need to create a masterpiece. You’ll
   even take home your very own small version of sidewalk
   art. This 2-hour course will be a mixture of presentation,
   demonstration, and hands on learning. Not an artist? Join
   us anyway! You will enjoy learning more about the art of
   sidewalk chalking.

Night Out every summer.
The festivities are held

   Ice Skating Lessons are offered for children and adults, ages 4
