Assam Biorefinery Private Limited (ABRPL)

ABRPL is a joint venture between Fortum,
 Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), and Chempolis
 ABRPL constructs a commercial scale biorefinery
 based on Chempolis’ formicobio™ technology
Biorefinery will be located beside NRL’s existing oil refinery in Assam, India

Biorefinery of ABRPL

Biorefinery will process 300000 t/a bamboo (on dry basis).
 Bamboo is available in abundance in NE India
Biorefinery will produce 60 Ml/a bioethanol,
 30000 t/a biochemicals and green power
Produced bioethanol will be blended with gasoline
Ground has been broken and production will begin in 2021
