About George Washington Inn
Strategically located on a high bluff overlooking the Strait of Juan de
Fuca between Sequim and Port Angeles on Washington State’s Olympic
Peninsula, George Washington Inn offers luxurious accommodations just
minutes from Olympic National Park. The Inn is modeled after our first
president’s Mount Vernon estate in Virginia and is surrounded by over
5000 lavender plants. Whether hiking at Hurricane Ridge, whale-
watching among the San Juan Islands, exploring the beaches along the
west coast, or taking the ferry to Victoria, Canada, you will come home to
modern luxury and amenities in this majestic inn reminiscent of colonial
America.

Local Cities & Towns
                         Port Angeles
Known as the Gateway to Olympic National Park, Port Angeles also serves as the US port
for the Coho Ferry to Victoria. Stroll the waterfront trail, hike Hurricane Ridge, browse the
antique shops, and enjoy all that the city has to offer.

Sequim
Often referred to as America’s Provence, Sequim is located in the rain shadow of the
Olympic Mountains and enjoys an ideal climate for the thousands of lavender plants in
the Sequim-Dungeness Valley. Boutique shops abound, and a local museum showcases
the art and history of the valley.

                                Forks
Located in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula, Forks has a long tradition as a
logging community. In recent years, Forks is best known as the setting for the
Twilight fiction series by Stephanie Meyer. Nearby destinations include the Hoh Rain
Forest, the west coast beaches, and the northwest tip of the continental USA at
                                Cape Flattery.

Port Townsend
Located at the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula, Port Townsend is a
picturesque Victorian-era seaport. From art galleries to whale-watching to
quaint gift shops, this eclectic town abounds in natural scenery.

                                 Port Gamble
Founded as a company mill town in 1853, Port Gamble invites you to step back in
time to the Pacific Northwest of 100 years ago with its historic buildings, quiet
streets, and picturesque views. Be sure to visit the old general store and post office,
                                 antique shops and tea shop.

Poulsbo
Established by Norwegian immigrants in 1882, Poulsbo’s historic
Downtown maintains a Scandinavian ambiance and is often referred to
as “Little Norway on the Fjord”.

                                                                                                                         3

Lighthouses
Our location on the northern coast of Washington State provides an unparalleled view of over ten
lighthouses and easy driving access to several more. A few are open for tours, others are
inaccessible, but all are still in operation.

illuminated in 1857 and remained in operation until 2009 when a solar-powered LED was
mounted on a skeletal light tower. https://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=120
