CMOS Release R12.0
CPW123 – Improved codes for ‘remote read type’
Change to Remote Read Type (D3038):
TOUCH
OUTREADER
AMR
SMARTAMI
WI-FI
DUMB
OTHER
Current 1WRAD, 2WRAD, GPRS will be removed.
ORWG February 2022 11CMOS Release R12.0 – CPW123
Mapping of the values that will be removed:
1WRAD = AMR
2WRAD = AMR
GPRS = SMARTAMI
OTHER = OUTREADER
*Null = DUMB
If D3037 (Remote Read Flag) is False and D3038 has a value, then
D3038 (Remote Read Type) = DUMB
*where D3037 (Remote Read Flag) was set to 0 (the meter could not be
remotely read) and therefore D3038 (Remote Read Type) had a null value.
ORWG February 2022 12CMOS Release R12.0 – CPW123
Remote Read Flag (D3037) will be removed
Outreader ID (D3039) will be renamed to ‘Remote Serial Number’
Changes to XSDs for several transactions to accommodate the new valid
set, renamed data item D3039 and the removal of D3037 data item
Because the ‘Remote Read Type’ will become a mandatory data item on
meter creation, the ‘DUMB’ code should be used for meters that do not
have a remote read capability
MDS METERS report will be updated (Removal of D3037 – Remote Read
Flag and to rename D3039 to Remote Serial Number)
ORWG February 2022 13CMOS Release R12.0 – NCC026
This change will enable CMOS users to collapse a tab view without the
need to open a different tab and keep as many tabs open as they wish

CMOS Release R12.0 – NCC026 The previous expanded tab is automatically closed once a new one is clicked ORWG February 2022 16
CMOS Release R12.0 – NCC027 This change will remove the ability to create CMOS usernames using the “@” character Currently it creates an issue when synchronising CMOS user with the Azure AD for the Bilaterals Hub Production log in For example, if my CMOS username is ricardo.mosl then my Bilaterals Hub username will be ricardo.mosl@moslmoservices.co.uk But, if my CMOS username is ricardo@mosl then my login for the Bilaterals will be something different as we would have to manually remove the ‘@’ symbol and create a different username ORWG February 2022 17

ORWG February 2022 57MPS2 and MPS incident
MPS2 and MPS were unavailable from 3:22am on 13.01.2022 to 5:41am
on 14.01.2022
A storage array was unable to boot correctly after the cache battery card
was replaced
Databases and VMs were unavailable as a result of this issue
Options were reviewed for potential workarounds such as the possibility
of failing over to another system whilst the array was down, but
unfortunately the controller was experiencing issues and could not be
used as a workaround
Due to issues found on the Oracle Virtual Machine (OVM) Cluster and
OVM Repositories the workaround to DR was not an option.
ORWG February 2022 58Incident on 13.01.2022
Root cause: the replacement cache card provided was faulty causing the
array to not boot correctly after the cache card was replaced.
Recommended actions to prevent a recurrence:
Understand how the replacement card was incompatible
Engineer to leave the site until service is fully restored and tested (the
engineer could see the device was powered and was happy to leave
the site, however, unknown to both the team and engineer was that
the device was not powered correctly)
Review the single dependency on the cluster and repository disk
which prevented failover (recommendation to split out the repository
onto more volumes than just one)
ORWG February 2022 59Data issues – CMOS users
CMOS users – December we had 5,543 active users. Today 5,386.
