The mission of the Post Theatre Company is twofold: to
provide a production laboratory, which approaches
as closely as possible the conditions of a working
professional theater; and to present exceptional live
theatre. The program is among the top theatre training
programs in the nation. Acting students receive a broad
range of training, which includes traditional and non-
traditional theatre practices. LIU Post is one of the only
undergraduate programs in the country to offer Suzuki
training—a rigorous physical discipline designed to
increase an actor’s focus and concentration—as part of
its core curriculum. Graduates of the program are strong
theatre artists who can meet the challenges of this rapidly
changing and multi-faceted field.

Sexual freedom is alive and well in Vienna, and the Duke appoints Angelo to reinstate the
city’s virtue. But deception and hilarity ensues when Angelo succumbs to the pleasure
of power, and abuses he commits in the name of righteousness are revealed. While in
Shakespeare’s day, all the roles were played by men, the PTC asks what happens when we
turn Shakespeare’s classic around and only the Duke and Angelo are played by men? All too
relevant in the wake of the #MeToo movement, the PTC sheds new light on this dark comedy.
