Mark Nightingale is an internationally acclaimed jazz trombonist, and
a highly respected composer and arranger. The list of musicians he has
played with reads like a who’s who of British and US jazz. Simon Allen
grew up playing in the Pendulum Jazz Orchestra in Reading and has often
performed at South Hill Park. On leaving the Royal Academy of Music he
went straight into Clark Tracey’s acclaimed quintet. He is now head of

and Art Pepper. Nat Steele is a cutting-edge virtuoso on the vibraphone –
his playing lyrical, melodic and harmonically adventurous – but always
with a focus on driving swing. They form a close-knit team, through their
common passion for bebop and West Coast jazz.
