                  REMNANTS DAY AT THE SHOP
             Saturday 8th September, 9.30am-4.00pm
We always have lots of odd bottles - and even cases - left after the first few weeks of
the sale so here’s a chance to come to the shop, taste a few wines, and tidy up what
remains, with a prospect of an additional discount on orders over £100.

                                               1
Some advice:
  • It is best to call us to place your order
  • Please do not send cheques with an order: invariably some wine or other is sold out,
requiring us to return the cheque
  • Only the wines temporarily discounted or available in large quantities will be available
    on the website.
We will try to process all orders fairly in the sequence in which we receive them - but
inevitably this is difficult when orders are arriving by telephone, email, fax and post.
Please bear with us if we inform you that any wine is available if it later turns out to
have been already sold: we will endeavour to provide suitable replacements, or cancel
  the order.

An absurd price for a rare wine from this tiny appellation for Chenin Blanc grown in south
facing vineyards above the Loire. Crafted in a deliberately very lightly oxydised style and

finish. Brilliant Pinot rosé.

2011 Aquitania,
Sol de Sol Chardonnay, Valle del Malleco Was: £19.95 Now: £9.95 Code: AQU311
From one of the most southernmost (and therefore coolest) vineyards in Chile, this is one of
the most awarded Chilean Chardonnays - but frankly, it shows too much vegetal character
on the nose and palate for most tastes (though some old-fashioned Burgundy used to
taste just like this). So it’s now being old well under cost to clear. “Sol de Sol is a model of
a modern Chilean white, with its deep fruit, sharp acidity and soft touches of flint. The oak
is perfectly integrated, giving great complexity and depth to the flavours. A wine with great
ageing potential. 19/20pts (96)”, Patricio Tapia in Decanter, November 2015.

Chile and Argentina - Red
2015 Vicien, Malbec, Catamarca, Arg. Was: £9.95 Now: £8.25 Code: VIB115
We are selling more and more of this sprightly Malbec, from organically farmed vineyards
at 5,500 feet in the Fiambala Valley. Bright red fruit - the owner Carlos Arizu says that is
the expression of high altitude Malbec - with purity and freshness. A bottle vanishes very
quickly - especially with a barbecue - but it’s also soft enough to enjoy without food.

accents of pears and green apple. Creamy, rounded and with a crisp finish, this makes a
lovely aperitif at any time and a perfect party fizz

Some advice:
• It is best to call us to place your order
• Please do not send cheques with an order: invariably some wine or other is sold out,
requiring us to return the cheque
• Only the wines temporarily discounted or available in large quantities will be available
  on the website.
We will try to process all orders fairly in the sequence in which we receive them - but
inevitably this is difficult when orders are arriving by telephone, email, fax and post.
Please bear with us if we inform you that any wine is available if it later turns out to
have been already sold: we will endeavour to provide suitable replacements, or cancel
the order.
