Women’s month during the month of August has been
a great one. Our women in political leadership have
been really honoured in such a way that two of our
very own women in Ngaka Modiri Molema District
Municipality, were elected as members of the Political
Management Committee as Speaker and Council
Whip respectively.
Our loving and ever so warm mother, Cllr. Yoliswa
Sechoaro was elected the District Council Speaker
and the pleasant Mme Itumeleng Lethoko, the newly
elected Council Whip, were sworn in during this
special month as well as phenominal women with
capacity and quality, Cllr. Priscilla Kwanaite and Cllr.

Lehlohonolo March
“Talk about WOMEN IN POWER”
The District Municipality also recognise women across all boarders, women of stat-
ure and whom believe in themselves. Women who ooze confidence and still go
out there and fight for what they believe is right. Women who represent all females
from all walks of life and are the voices to the unrepresented.
Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality would like to wish all mothers, sister and
aunts including our daughter’s a HAPPY WOMEN’S MONTH.
We salute and honour you.
We continue to find strength through your nurture.
You’re impeccable, immaculate, you are beautiful, and you are simply per-

The District Municipality held a Drought
Mitigation event on the 30th of July 2016 at
Matshepe Sports Ground. The purpose of the
event was to educate and inform the people
of the District about this challenging
pandemic that we are facing as a country.
During recent years we have been
experiencing declining rainfall patterns with
the past year being the lowest due to the
Elnino effect. The severity of the drought has
