Licensing structure
Base server license
• A XProtect Professional base server license is mandatory to install the software; it may be installed
on a single computer designated as master server per software license code (SLC). The software
may be installed on any number of slave server computers per designated master server using the
same SLC
• The base server license contains the XProtect Professional server module and XProtect® Mobile for
Express and Professional server, plus the client modules XProtect Smart Client for Express and
Professional, XProtect Smart Client for Express and Professional – Player, XProtect Web Client for
Express and Professional and XProtect Mobile for Express and Professional

• To connect cameras, audio devices, video encoders and other devices to XProtect Express, one
device license is needed per camera or other IP based device connected to the system. Each IP
device connected to the system through an already licensed IP device also requires a device license.
