This hands-on program will provide you with the skills
needed to be an effective leader when working with
children. C.I.T.’s will work directly with camp staff by
assisting with daily activities at Adventure Camp. This is
a truly rewarding experience for young adults interested
in working with children and serving as a role model. Fee

TEEN WILDERNESS EXPLORERS
Are you an outdoorsy person? Do you want to spend your summer exploring amazing natural spaces in the Chicago
region and learn a thing or two about giving back to the environment? If so, then join our Teen Wilderness Explorers,
where you will voyage and volunteer! Two days a week we will explore the wild areas around our base camp at Gilbert
Park/Maple Grove Forest Preserve; two days we will check out another park in the Downers Grove Park District and
practice ecological restoration; one day a week we will go on a fun field trip to a natural area in the Chicago region!
Drop off and pick up will occur at Lyman Woods each day. Participants will be transported by Lyman Woods Staff to
Gilbert Park (two days a week), other park sites (two days a week), or a larger wilderness area for Wednesday’s field trip.
Camp fee includes camp T-shirt. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch and mid-camp snack. For
the week of July 6 to 9, camp will not meet on Monday. Price for that week includes fee for kayak rental.
