Hello, I am the new Recreation Program
Manager - Programming for the City of
Vandalia. Although not born in Ohio, I
have lived in Vandalia for most of my
life and went through the school system
here as well, from Helke Elementary all
the way through Butler High School. I
                                        played basketball throughout my high
                                        school years, graduated from Butler
High School in 2014 and received a
                                        Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Man-
agement from Ohio University in 2018.
My life motto is, “Recreation for All”. I believe that recreation is essential
and beneficial for people to grow and succeed as human beings. I believe
that all people, no matter what physical, mental, medical or financial
differences they may have, deserve the opportunity to recreate and
participate in programs that they love. I grew up participating in many of
the programs that were provided by the Vandalia Recreation Center and
saw myself one day being able to provide the same fun experience back
                                        to the community.

If you have any questions, concerns or thoughts about programming,
please call 415-2334 or email me at amessenger@vandaliaohio.org.
