Wednesday 21st April 2021
Miss Taylah made kinetic sand!
What a fun sensory experience Miss Taylah had set up for us this morning, she had made
some fun kinetic sand out of some ingredients found in the kitchen, this fun sensory
experience was made edible as our toddlers are loving to explore the texture and taste of
anything they get their hands onto, by making the experience edible it was a great way for
them to explore their different senses.
Jayden, Harvey and Hannah were the first to explore the kinetic sand, Hannah, Har-
vey and Jayden grabbed handfuls of the sand, mixing in around in their hands, really
getting the feel of the soft texture. Ethan came over to the table to have a look in-
side the container, at first he wasn’t 100% sure on the feeling and the look of it,
but after watching some of his friends get their hands dirty, he gave it a go and
started to like the feeling of the kinetic sand.
After Ayden and Jaqueline had finished their morning tea, Miss Taylah brought the
container filled with kinetic sand over for them to explore. Ayden jumped straight
in and had a feel around, he grabbed handfuls and placed it in front of him on the
table, once he had a pile in front of him he grab the blue block he had in his hand
and started pushing it down onto the kinetic sand, Ayden giggled and smiled as he
could see the kinetic sand flattening and make loud banging noises. Jacqueline
wasn't to sure about the texture and look of the sand, she was happy to observe
her friends.
The children had fun explore the different soft but moldable texture of the kinetic
sand.

Spontaneous Play
Today Ayden and Olivia enjoyed playing with the mega blocks. Olivia en-
joyed building with the mega blocks whereas Ayden enjoyed looking at
the different colours and using the single blocks to build a tower.
Ethan enjoyed pushing the crocodile walker around the room making
the crocodiles mouths open and closed as he walks he also enjoyed
playing with the magnetic building blocks.
Hannah and Isabella enjoyed building with the wooden blocks and
knocking them over when finished they found this to be great fun
Hannah would let out a little giggle each time.
Harvey had a lot of fun playing on the indoor obstacle course with
Olivia and playing with the long tube full of beads he enjoyed listening
as the beads would fall down through the tube.
Over in book corner Olivia enjoyed playing with the stacking rings
whilst Jayden picked a book from the shelf to read.
Harvey played with the wooden spaceship along
with wooden boat and animal. Ayden enjoyed
looking at his reflection in the mirror that is
attached to the back of the books shelf.

Let’s do yoga!
The Jellyfish children had a special guest join us today,
we had a yoga instructor come in and do some yoga
with us. The yoga instructor came around when most of
our friends were getting hungry and tired so some of
our friends weren't sure about getting involved, Hannah,
Ayden, Ethan and Harvey enjoyed some time doing some
stretches and listening to some soft music with the
yoga instructor. Our other friends helped Miss Taylah
prepare our beds ready for rest time.
Hopefully the yoga instructor comes a little bit early
next week so our Jellyfish children can get a little more
involved.
