SIZE
The larger the aquarium, the easier it is to keep everything in balance. They also usually provide better
living conditions for fish and plants.
FISH & CO.
A general guideline is provided here: Two litres of water should be planned for one centimetre of fish.
Always consult with your authorised dealer when selecting aquarium size, live stock, and plants – a
functioning habitat with healthy fish that will bring you lasting satisfaction can only come about when
all factors are optimally matched.
LOCATION
It is important to consider where you are going to place your aquarium. Do not underestimate the
weight of a filled and planted aquarium. Remember to consider if the location is capable of bearing the
load. The weight of the water in kg in the aquarium is calculated as follows: height x width x depth in
cm/1000.
In addition there is the weight of the glass aquarium, the cabinet, the decoration and the additional
technology such as pumps and filters.
To reduce algae growth it is important to avoid direct sunlight. Fish stress can also be reduced if you
choose a location away from doors or where people frequently walk. Direct sources of heat should also
be avoided as these can cause temperature fluctuations within the tank.
Also ensure that a sufficient number of power sources are available in the room and that the aquarium
is horizontal. You should also make sure there is enough space for cleaning and changing the water.

lighting scenarios to suit fish, plants and surroundings at entry level, the
standard equipment has long-life LEDs and a transformer.
A more advanced alternative is the IR Control Set with remote control
to select different colours and change the brightness and lighting
scenarios, including daily routine and thunderstorm function. For
discerning customers, an EAC controller enables segment control of
the four-colour lighting in the aquarium via WiFi.
Whatever your requirements or budget, you can choose from a varied
range of options with durable, energy-efficient products featuring safe

In ad- dition, you can simulate an almost unlimited number of light colours, including having multiple colours at different places along the LED. With the StreamMax Premium pump and the corres-
ponding Pump Controller, you can also generate natu-
ral water movements for your aquarium's inhabitants.
These can be selected from a variety of pre-configured
settings or set up manually.
The pump can be configured for customised daily
schedules when connected to the EAC system, inclu-
ding pausing the flow to allow for feeding. This allows
the marine animals to eat at their leisure and in good
water quality, as the food does not break down and
drift away.

changes, it is one of the most important and frequent

The OASE BioMasters help to make this less
arduous. They are easy to clean as the pre-filter can be
removed and rinsed out without having to dismantle

Tip! Firstly, do not directly replace a filter; a new filter should run in parallel with the old filter for at
least 2 – 3 weeks. The reason for this is that in the new filter, the filter biology of bacteria and other
microorganisms that are responsible for decomposing ammonia and nitrite must first be built up – during
this period of time, the harmful chemicals will accumulate and endanger the life forms in the aquarium.
