PRODUCTS
START HERE…
Method No. 1 - Instabind
This is the fastest, least expensive way to get started. This
method requires the lowest initial investment in tools, yet
it offers several different styles: Binding, serging, or the
nautical rope look. Installation of Instabind tapes can be
done right on the job site saving a trip to the binder!
Method No. 2 - Portabind / Portaserge
This method requires a moderate investment in equipment
(a portable binding or serging machine) but a lower ongoing
cost of material. It offers a wider range of colors for accurate
matching, and 3 basic looks (binding, serging and wide
binding). It is a money-making investment.
Method No. 3 - Stationary or Factory Binding This
method is used for high-volume production type work. It
requires a more substantial capital investment for heavy
duty machines, rollers or air tables that are not normally
taken to the job site, but remain at the binding shop.
It is a money-making investment.
The following pages will explain, in greater detail, precisely what tools, equipment and supplies
are needed for each binding method. There will be many options or check points to consider,
depending upon the size and scope of your carpet binding needs and your method of doing
business. You, the customer, are in the best position to decide what method fits your operation
and your budget.
