Distec GmbH is a subsidiary of the listed German FORTEC Elektronik AG which is a system supplier for device manufacturers of industrial high-tech products. The areas of expertise range from pure distribution, through development and production, to complete solu- tions. Distec GmbH was founded in Germering near Munich in 1993 and is one of the pioneers of flat panel technolo- gy with proprietary hardware controllers. From the very beginning, the focus has been on the industrial markets with their specific requirements for reliability in operation, longevity and long-term availability of the individual components. Today, Distec GmbH develops and produces, among other things, long-lasting monitor solutions, which are characterized by robust TFT displays. Even difficult environmental conditions and harsh operating conditions pose no problem for our monitors. Reliability, flexibility and resilience - that‘s what Distec monitors stand for. Our standard products are often the basis for the development of customized solutions. Customer focus: At our innovation and production sites in Hörselberg-Hainich near Eisenach and Germering near Munich we develop, design, produce and certify our products. Development, engineering and design, manufacturing and quality assuran-
ce – all processes take place in Germany and derive from one source –
Made in Germany.
Our monitors stand for reliabilty, quality and flexibility. We pursue these
characteristics as our defined goals from the early stage of development by selecting durable and rugged com-
ponents over supplier determination, interface configuration until the stage of design and implemention and
extensive quality control. Our product portfolio comprises the „POS-Line“ as our standard product line which
offers a wide ranges of options in terms of control, protection, touch and design, our High Bright series is adjus-
ted to challenging lighting conditions and fireload optimized monitors from our BLO-Line. The new BLO-Line
monitors of Distec match the strict fire safety regulations of DE EN 13501-1 in the highest class A1, s1-d0 and
can be optionally equipped with an extinguishing device.
Beyond that we passionately develop customised solutions in cooperation with our customers for any area of
application.

DISTEC CONTROLLER AND PCs
VideoPoster IV (VP IV)
Interfaces: 1 x LAN, 2 x USB, 1 x HDMI in, 1 x Line out,
1 x microSD Card Slot
VideoPoster is an industrial FHD Media Player based on
a Raspberry Pi® CM3/ CM3+ and a ArtistaMedia-III Base
Board.
It features functions like auto-play and auto-loop of a playlist after power on.
Full HD capable network player displays MPEG media files, such as videos and still images. The
content may be updated via USB connection. VideoPoster can be configured with any common
web browser by using our software Artista Device Finder for Windows® or by typing the IP-adress
of your device into the address bar of the web browser manually.
Our free ACC Control-Center-Software for Windows® allows for quick updating of playlists run by
all mediaplayers within a network via Ethernet or USB flash drive (push update) so that VideoPoster
contents can be created and allocated in an easy and convenient way.

Artista IoT is a combination of Distec ArtistaMEDIA-III
Base Bord and an industrial ARM computing platform, based on Raspberry Pi® Compute Module
3 or 3+ (CM3 or CM3+). The controller board may be optionally equipped with different operating
systems, for instance with a pre-installed Raspbian.
PRISMA MEDIA ECO (VIDEO PME)

The PrismaMEDIA-Eco is an economic, efficient, space
saving and powerful controller card. Its features include
a zoom function, OSD menu and an ambient light sen-
sor allows for automatic brightness adjustment.

Prisma-III A controller card ensures high performance
for any monitor application.
Besides the zoom function, OSD menu and ambi-

operation hours counter for power- and display-on, Powerful Picture-in-picture (PIP) and Pic-
ture-and-Picture (PAP) functionalities.

The multimedia controller is a powerful and versatile

panels.
IQ Atom

Our monitors can be equipped with integrated PCs. The
IQ Atom is driven by an Intel® Atom® E3845 (1,9GHz)
microprocessor, contains an integrated graphics card,
a 4GB DDR3L main memory and a 128GB SSD with mSATA interface. IQ Atom is the economic
solution for simple applications.
IQ Core-i
Interfaces: 2 x DisplayPort, 2x LAN, 4x USB 3.0, 1 x Audio,
1 x MIC in
IQ Core-i5 monitors are connected to a different powerful
integrated PC, driven by an Intel® Core™-i5-7300 (2,6GHz)
microprocessor, contain an integrated graphics card, an 8GB DDR4 main memory and a 120GB
M.2 Sata SSD. IQ Core-i allows to run ambitious applications.

Touch screen
Resistive touch screen, POS-Line 15“, 17“, 19“
PCAP touch screen, POS-Line 15.6“, 17.3“, 21.5“ and 24“
Resistive touch screen panels may be used with bare or gloved fingers or other input objects, such
as a stylus. They comprise two electrically resistive layers that sense each other and become
connected when pressure is applied. With the resulting change of voltage, the position of pressure
can be detected by the touchscreen´s controller. Resistive touch screen panels can sense only a
limited number of touch points at once. In contrast, PCAP touch sensors respond to the registra-
tion of change in capacitance which is caused by touching the surface of the screen. The touch
can be sensed with fingers or any other conductive item as suitable method of input. Compared to
resistive touch screens, PCAP touch sensors are able to register up to 80 touch points at once.
TrueFlat-Touch screen
PCAP touch screen with tempered safety glass (TSG), thickness:

PCAP touch (description above) with TrueFlat glass: a combination of PCAP touch sensor and
tempered glass. In addition, it also gives the monitor a appealing high quality optical design.
Tempered safety glass
Tempered safety glass (TSG), thickness: 3-5mm, depending on
the size, for all POS-Line monitors
To ensure display protection we use tempered glass which is
flush mounted with the display panel at the front of the monitor. Tempered glass has undergone a
special thermal treatment which makes it more resistant to shock and surface damage.
TrueFlat glass
Tempered safety glass (TSG), thickness: 3-5mm, depending on
the size,with black passepartout, printed glass, RAL 9005, for
POS-Line and Brilan 4k
TrueFlat glass is tempered glass with a black passepartout
installed at the display front. It protects the panel and contributes
to an enhanced appearance of the monitor.

POS-Line 64.5“ monitor with front bezel and glass applied as info terminal at the airport POS-Line 24“ IoT for organization of processes This product range is the result of more than 15 years of experience in the manufacturing of industrial display ap- plications. The monitors in the POS-Line series have been produced to industrial quality standards and are par- ticularly suitable for process monitoring and machine control, interactive kiosk applications and digital signage. Versatility in terms of installation and usage in various fields of application and settings is the defined principle of design. As a consequence, this series can be installed both as open-frame monitors for integration or, equipped with a frame, as desktop or wall mounted screens. Furthermore, we provide additional frame options including TrueFlat glass, or a front plate suitable for easy front-side integration. The POS-Line monitors can be driven by various video signals like HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, VGA or a mediaplayer as well from the input of PCs, which are completely integrated into the monitors. Depending on their application our monitors can be equipped with touch systems, e.g. resistive or projected capacitive touch (PCAP). Similar to our smaller display units, our larger models with display sizes starting from 31.5” are extensively confi- gurable, and there are a variety of controller card types to choose from. Monitors with integrated Atom or Core-i PC are equipped with a detachable PC box. Hence, the PC is exchangeable for service purposes and the monitor does not have to be removed from the wall. Protection against fire hazard and assessment of fire behaviour of building materials is a basic presumption
when planning and constructing buildings. Public areas, which are also marked emergency exit routes within
buildings must be accessible in case of fire. Flammable materials with high risk of smoke gas development
must not be used or installed in those areas.
Requirements for fire prevention often conflict the demand the demand of using monitors in public areas of
builings as visitor guiding systems, guest or employee information systems and for advertising purposes.
Usually the places of installation are also part of sign-posted emergency exit routes. Fire safety regulations
avoid the installation of devices which are supposed to increase fire load and to promote development of smo-
ke gas. Distec designed and developed a monitor series optimized in the contribution to fire and smoke gas
emission for usage in public areas and buildings. Monitors from our BLO-Line are available with two different
reaction to fire classification levels.

The European Standard EN13501-1 enables the classification of building materials and components in terms
of fire behavior and fire resistance. Additional criteria take a product’s tendency to produce smoke and flaming
droplets or particles into consideration. Since there is no such classification procedure for electronic devices,
monitors are tested in compliance with the SBI method according to EN 13823:2015-02 standard, which spe-
cifies a method of test in order to determine the reaction to fire performance of construction products when
exposed to thermal attack by a single burning item (SBI).
The required fire test was conducted in accordance with the above mentioned standards on the premises of
the Leipzig Institute for Materials Research and Testing, a recognised, notified and accredited testing, inspec-
tion and certification body in Germany. The results have been verified and certified by an independent expert
assessor. The results of the fire tests allow Distec to offer fire load optimized monitors in accordance with both
the classifications B (combustible materials with limited contribution to a fire) -s1 (little or no smoke gas emis-
sion), d0 (no production of flaming droplets) and even A1-s1, d0 (non-combustible materials - no contribution
to fire).
The new BLO line is A1 classified and certified. Consequently, it meets the respective fire safety regulations.
BLO-line monitors may be also equipped with an optional extinguishing device or even engineered for a higher
IP rating. Thus, our BLO monitors are most suitable for installation as information systems in public buildings,
such as hospitals, universities, schools, airports and other public areas in buildings. They are available as
common monitors or as an independent system with integrated PC. Hence, there is no need for additional fire
resistant housings which are both heavy in weight and more expensive. Therefore, our BLO-line monitors are
cost-effective and allow for an easy installation and handling.
No fire hazards with Distec BLO monitors
Monitors with A1-s1 d0 classification (according to DIN EN 13501-1 standard) are non-flammable, cause only
little or no smoke gas emission and do not produce flaming droplets or particles. For successful certification
based on the fire test, an expert report is issued by an authorized expert for preventive fire protection officially
appointed and sworn by the Federal Chamber of Engineers and an authorized expert for defensive fire protecti-
on.
During the mentioned fire test the monitor is exposed to open fire for the duration of 30 minutes so that mea-
surements of smoke gas emissions, heat release and dripping can be taken. A certificate for A1-s1, d0 classifi-
cation is enclosed with each monitor delivered.

German Standard and European Reaction to Fire Classification System
Basically, there is no classification system for electrical devices, including our monitors, according to DIN EN
13501-1 standard for building materials. Since there is no such a standard for electronic devices the fire test
has been carried out on the basis of DIN EN 13501-1 in order to make our monitors comparable to building
materials.
